Which would be perfect additional feature to add once you have it working.

This could be spotty, but I'm purely guessing, because the in-game journal has had problems with tracking certain achievements in the past.

Basically I'm suggesting following a "release early, release often" style to get started. Be upfront that it does not all the feature completed yet, and that may have some rough edges, and users will generally be cooperative and supportive. Some may be keen enough to send you patches.
I can agree with that. When in doubt, just give it a sub-one version number.
I started with 0.5 on Unified Chat Tabs and back then autoapply did not work (a planned core feature):

libConstantMapper is still in the 0.7, because two important parts are missing (i need multipel exclusions patterns per pattern and multiple patterns per mapping for full use):

And dispaly name fix will never leave the beta phase, simply because it is working with areas we are not supposed to touch normally and the effects can be unpredictable even for me (it is as save as it can be):
