Sorry I did test unicode on win8.1x86 and did not encounter any problems.
Can you try to re-install
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5555 , when you download and install it you'll be asked if you want to repair it. Do the repair, restart windows, then try out Minion.
If that doesnt work try running the minion java on its own. This would require that you have java7 installed on your system. Go to the Minion application directory C:\Users\ПАТАНАТОМІЯ\AppData\Local\Minion\app\ and right click on the Minion-jfx.jar and choose to open it with java. Does it run? If not please post your minion0.log it should have generated in C:\Users\ПАТАНАТОМІЯ\.minion\
