I just verified the AV exception is working.
I navigated to D:\Minion\app, right-clicked Minion-jfx.jar and selected "Scan with microsoft defender".
It started the scanning process then immediately popped up a notification saying Item skipped during scan due to an exclusion.
I don't have the .jar added at the file level, so the folder level exclusion is working.
Just for giggles I fired up Fiddler and did a live traffic scan on everything going out of my machine. Nothing at all from Minion. Apparently, even though the background process is there it's not reaching the network stage at all because it hasn't even tried establishing any connectivity.
