Download only for registered users

Feature request:
Allow the author to set whether a download is allowed for unregistered users or not.

It is possible they are using some sort of automation to collect the files. Maybe including some sort of human verification would make it that much more difficult for them to automate? Just playing devil's advocate here...

Other than some sort of legitimate legal action, I'm not sure there is much that can be done here. They are already re-uploading some things that were taken down due to the copyright notices now.

They are linking to the esoui hosted files and the download works via esocore, because you don't need to be registered to download files here.

Since we use a CDN this would be extremely costly solution to try and stop a site that has next to nothing for traffic anyway.

We would have to take the files off CDN and pay a much higher price for bandwidth to have that control. Also would need a lot more servers just to handle authentication and downloads.

Not to mention it would really impact users in a negative way.

There are a few other things we can try though.

Well, he is not hotlinking to the cdn hosted files, but to esoui - so he doesn't need to manually update his links. As far as I can tell, only getfile.php would need to be changed.
