Minion "Unable to connect to the internet"

Hey there, my computer is connected to the internet just fine, checked Windows firewall settings, but when launching Minion I get the message "Minion is unable to connect to the internet. Please check your firewall, security & proxy settings. Please visit our Help & Support page for additional information. I updated to the new version of minion via the website just to be safe but still receive the same errr message. The help and support page unfortunately didn't give me any answers, unless I was looking in the wrong place, so trying here.

Guys, really? Is this a kind of joke?
