item preview (esp. tabards)???

So surprisingly this has never been requested - I'm the king of requesting impossible things but would like an addon that allows to preview the item your getting - at least the look and color - just spent 4k on 2 tabards where the guilds are covenant and are using dragons as their con....DRAGONS!? Covenant is lions!! soooo annoyed as i'm OCD about being lore friendly

soooo any way to do this? even if its just for tabards?

It has been requested more often then I care to count

The answer is always the same:
Item previews have to be done via the Devs. Afaik there is no way to affect the ingame world directly from addons (you can indirectly via equip).

Note that the first step has been done with the dye system. The dye preview is the first preview to be implemented.
I asume they will be making some kind of "how does X look on me" preview next.
Once that is done they can get to the long asked "character body&face editor".


Actually tabbart preveiw, might just be possible. If the API allows to ask at least for the texture used as the emblem plus maybe the colors. These are the new API funcions:

BuyHeraldryItem
GetHeraldryItemLink

We have to take a look at "GetHeraldryItemInfo", it seems to be the most promising one.
