Targeting Aid addon

Ok so i'm the main tank for my guild..

Tanking the celestial mage is easy.
Tanking her plus her 3 axes is rather difficulty, due to the games bad targetting system. I can survive all 4 of their assualt no problem, I cannot accurately taunt them all fast enough sometimes due to the broken targetting.

Just shouting inner beast at them doesn't seem to work half the time, usually works if I hard tab target them.

But them im in trouble, because I don't see any way to clear that target.. So I hit my tab key 90,000 times tryign to desperately target the mage again to get agro back ,or another axe.. And it just keeps targeting the wrong junk.

I believe the API has a clear target function.

So a simple addon that lets me bind this function to a key should work.

Offering 15,000gp for an author who can get me that fast =)

(More advanced on that can change the color my locked target to something cooler like red, or actaully give me more ways to rotate targetting other then spamming tab like crazy while moving the mouse would be appreciate too).

The funcationality was removed just before game launch. As of the 1.1.2 major patch, the deprecated functions were even removed from the API. i.e.

• ClearTarget
• TargetNearestEnemy
• TargetUnit
• TargetUnitByName

They are gone now.

Functions ClearGameCameraPreferredTarget() and CycleGameCameraPreferredEnemyTarget() are private, so you can't use them in addon. I believe it is not possible to create requested addon.

Shameful how bad they made the api.

This isn't really exactly gonna break immersion or anything dumb like that.

Or would enhance it.. Pretty bad I can't accurately target what I shout at.

Meh, I'll just have to try harder or break down and hire an off tank..

Completed with only me tanking though, just very taxing on my tab key. Its gonna break tonight.
