EHT paint buckets

Is there a way of turning off the paint buckets from added effects while still in editing mode?

Once you put down 100 or so of these they get quite annoying especially since they are visible through every plane. They are also somehow triggered from behind. I can be standing back to a bucket and click in front of me, now all of a sudden I'm editing the item behind me.
