It already is, if you take a look at this link http://www.esohead.com/map#201.2.50....19:33:35:36:70 you'll see the Skyshard locations gathered by our addon in Stros M'Kai.

I assume that the Skyshard icon is not on every map (Khenarthi's Roost for instance) until there is actual data collected for that map zone?

I'm hoping that once you get them you get a record on your achievement as to where they were. I have got at least 3 on 2 of my characters and they are different races so should be from different locations. Next beta I will see what it tells me but have the esohead addon downloaded ready to use when I next get to play.

Pretty sure that as you find/collect them, they are marked in white in the relevant Achievement panel.

It was not obvious when searching for Skyshards but their location is in fact hinted in the Achievements. Hence, once you locate one the greyed hint becomes white. I can't confirm as it is not beta testing at the moment.

You can see them all for each Skyshard related Achievement on Esohead here.
