Wink Mark group target / request

PVE content is mostly about group coordination . I am used that my tank mark targets by killing order/priorities ( just 3 would be sufficient ). This kind of addon will make our pve experience much smoother.

I think the best that could be done is a tool that allows you to tag targets and tells you if your current target is tagged.

Automatic targeting or marking probably won't be possible.

I guess it could still be useful though.

That is much better then nothing. So u say actually that tank could be able to tag 2-3 targets , then u have to lock target on them to see if your target is tagged . If u can get tag note like tag 1 , tag 2 ...... it would be totally ok.

It's currently not possible for addons to communicate with other clients. So coordinate in another way.

Why so mad?

ESO teamplay doesn't look like it'll go as smooth as it did for example in WoW. But normally you should be able to tell what targets to go for quite easy ("the healer on the left 1st, healer to the right 2nd then pwn"). Unless you have a WoW "OP tank" that likes to run in whilst you're talking about priority

And, although Pawkette is right, if you'd be going with the same people.. Wouldn't it work if all of said people would download the same addon that'd communicate together? I am by no means an addon-creater, nor am I a 100 % sure how addons in ESO works with the client, but I could imagine that working?

You'd have to distribute a priority targetting list. You cannot communicate to other client's addons in ESO. So there'd be no way to update this on the fly.

You could create an addon that everyone would have to download, then the tank would target something, it would say in chat, then the addon could parse the chat based on what the tank said, like "TARGET: Imp". Marking the target on screen may be a different story.

But addons can read and send chat messages. Does that not count as beeing able to communicate?
I think this is doable.

Addons cannot send chat messages.

I wish people would listen to me sometimes. *sighs dejectedly*

Ah damn, the wiki didn't show "SendChatMessage" as private.
I hope in the future they'll atleast allow us to use that in custom channels.

Still, no need to be so disdainful.

Anyway, I've been looking around a bit and the only other way for addon communication that I found is via Get/SetGuildDescription. That MIGHT work but I really don't think it would be a good idea.

That's because the ability was removed with the API overhaul just prior to launch. (Though, it *is* a wiki, and someone *could* fix that... )

Templar ability Backlash is a good target marking ability. For the current most important target that is.

the ability to call target to other clients is very possible actually. However, the addon would have to be installed on each party member's game, and communicate with an external server outside of the ESO client's. The addon would function similar to how Overwolf functions for Teamspeak. It works within a game client but does not use the actual client's entire server, only elements.

An addon can't communicate with anything outside of ESO. (Not in real time, anyway.)
