How to Create simple multi column table?

I'm a total novice with lua.
Is there any way I can just create a simple table with rows and columns for ESO?

I've looked at the documentation and tried for a couple of days dissecting other addons but I didn't see anything but the lua table function - that's ok for data but not for what I want. I'm guessing I have to work with the xml instead?

An example of a 2x2 table to get me going in the right direction would be very much appreciated if somebody is willing to take the time to help.

There isn't a table control that I'm aware of.

For one of my addons, I just created a grid of textures dynamically with lua.

You could create a table control, but not advisable if you're inexperienced with lua.

Well that's a shame.

Would have been nice to be able to have a simple grid of some sort that didn't rely on textures to pad.
It's no wonder I've not had any success!

I thank you for your reply Stormknight.
