If you cannot remove a marker icon on an item, as it seems to stay (in the background it will be re-applied directly after removing it) you need to check your other addons, if they communicate with FCOItemSaver!

E.g. you want to unlock a recipe but for some reason the lock icon cannot be removed?
You may have forgotten that you have disabled the unlocking of certain recipes in the ECO Master Recipe List addon.
