Global Data / Creating a Database
Feature #: 212
File: HarvestMap
Date: 04/27/14 10:06 AM
By: Shinni
Status: Under Review
I implemented a feature which imports all HarvestMap data on your PC into your account.
So if you play with two accounts (or you share your computer with someone else), the gathered data is shared!
This also allows to easily import other people's data.

In order to share the data, I'd like to create some kind of database/masterfile.
However I've only been to Auridon and Grahtwood, so it currently contains very little harvest nodes.
It would be great if you helped me create this database!
If you want to help, upload you savefile and post it in the notes below.
(zippyshare, mediafire, anywhere you like)
(If you worry about your accountname and/or characternames being public, open a copy of the file with a texteditor and simply replace the names. Should be easy enough via ctrl+f ^^)

Note: This feature isn't uploaded yet. I want to test it thoroughly first.
A bug while modifying the save file could delete all your data...

Here you go. Stros M'kai, Glenumbra, and most of Stormhaven. http://pastebin.com/79n1U9GD

You have exceeded the maximum file size of 500 kilobytes per paste. PRO users don't have this limit!

Are you planing a feature to merge the own database with the your master database?

Amost exclusively done in Stormhaven as I've only been using the addon for a few days, really wishing I had it before then though

I'm currently writing a python script to parse the saved variables into a dict / JSON for storing locally in sqlite and maybe posting to a central database via a webservice. Will share where I get to if you think it would be useful.

You can use esohead data found at http://eso-merge.nameless-gaming.org/uploads/daily/ to start your database.

Here my 140k lines database : http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/42291771/file.html

Thanks for the link Benkimy - i'll definitely look at that

Got a rough gist for exporting with python - only prints to terminal at the moment

the savedvariables are in lua syntax, you can load the files from a lua script via dofile(filepath).
i'm sure lua has a sql library, so maybe writing the script in lua is easier than in python.

Thanks for the info - I'll look into this today. Would be great to be able to have all available points locally in SQL and load required ones on demand like SELECT * FROM nodes WHERE profession='Enchanting' AND zone='my_current_zone'

Not knowing much about lua myself would it be possible to hook into a 'location_changed' event in order to automate this? Just a thought...
