Hello, I've translated the HarvestMapLoc's French part.
Thus we have :

["fr"] = {
["chest"] = "Coffre au trésor",
["filter1"] = "Forge : Gisements",
["filtertooltip1"] = "Montre les gisements de minerais sur la carte et la boussole.",
["filter2"] = "Couture : Matériaux",
["filtertooltip2"] = "Montre les matériaux de couture sur la carte et la boussole.",
["filter3"] = "Enchantement : Pierres runiques",
["filtertooltip3"] = "Montre les pierres runiques sur la carte et la boussole.",
["filter4"] = "Alchimie : Plantes et Solvants",
["filtertooltip4"] = "Montre les plantes et les solvants sur la carte et la boussole.",
["filter5"] = "Travail du bois : Matériaux",
["filtertooltip5"] = "Montre les rondins de bois sur la carte et la boussole.",
["filter6"] = "Coffres",
["filtertooltip6"] = "Montre les coffres sur la carte et la boussole.",
["size1"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip1"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de gisements de la carte.",
["size2"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip2"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de matériaux de couture de la carte.",
["size3"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip3"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de pierres runiques de la carte.",
["size4"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip4"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de plantes de la carte.",
["size5"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip5"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de rondins de bois de la carte.",
["size6"] = "Taille des spots",
["sizetooltip6"] = "Paramètre la taille des spots de coffres de la carte.",
["color1"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip1"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de gisements de la carte et de la boussole.",
["color2"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip2"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de matériaux de couture de la carte et de la boussole.",
["color3"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip3"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de pierres runiques de la carte et de la boussole.",
["color4"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip4"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de plantes et solvants de la carte et de la boussole.",
["color5"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip5"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de rondins de bois de la carte et de la boussole.",
["color6"] = "Couleur des spots",
["colortooltip6"] = "Définit la couleur des spots de coffres de la carte et de la boussole.",
["fov"] = "Champ de vision",
["fovtooltip"] = "25 ~ Vous voyez les spots a 90° en face de vous. (25% = un quart de cercle)\n100 ~ Vous voyez tous les spots autour de vous. (100% = un cercle entier).",
["distance"] = "Distance maximale du spot",
["distancetooltip"] = "Distance maximale a laquelle les différents spots apparaissent sur la boussole.",
["compass"] = "Activer la boussole",
["compasstooltip"] = "Activer l'affichage des spots a proximité sur la boussole.",
}
}

As well I've tested, everything really works fine.

The only thing I had a problem was about the "" UTF-8 encoded character. It seems that's the same code as the "" character which one doesn't work anymore. I tried to find other solutions ... but no result.
Thus I had to use 3 times "a" characters despite of using an "" !

Hi thanks for translating.

Anyhow I've don't seen any post from Kalmeth. And it should be great to discuss about some translations.

"herbes" for "herbs" why not ! Btw I think "plantes" sounds greater ! The English word comes from old French (as 60% of English words, in fact from old French and/or Latin). It is actually used for grass, tobacco, cooking (aromatic plants) and medicinal plants. Endly, today French term "herbes" is used very specifically, and "plantes" is a general term for all plants not having a trunk.

"Ebniste" = "Woodworking" is wrong for me. You only have to say "bniste" for a cabinetmaker. You still have "Menuisier" for "Carpenter" to regroup all the wood crafts, or "Fabricant d'arcs" for "Bowyer" (of course staff manufacturer doesn't exist) but you have NO general term gathering all of that. That's the main reason Bet preferred to use "Travail du bois" ie. "Woodworking".

"pin" = there's NO direct translation ! It depends of the meaning ! That the reason why french language is so difficult ... that's the opposite of English lang., you'll get one word for tons of things. However, even if "spot" does not exist in written language, it is frequently used today. You can still use "point", "lieu", "emplacement de ...". In modern term we usually use "spot" for maps as me because I'm working on satellites (another example :
http://www.spotsurf.fr/carte-spots-surf/
). But if you want to have a tycical word that sounds French, you can keep "marqueur". By the way you have to change "Taille marqueur" with "Taille du marqueur". The same for "Couleur marqueur" with "Couleur du marqueur".

Everywhere you have (...) "le boussole", you have to change it by (...) "la boussole".

At the end you have to change "Activer compas" with "Activer la boussole"

Thanks for reading, but overall thanks for your excellent addon !

Kalmeth posted a translation in the comment section yesterday.

omg, French is such a complex language xD
Thanks a lot for the detailed explanations! I'll do some changes to the localization.

Thanks, I'll look for the Kalmeth's post.

And right ! French is hard to learn ... but one of the easiest languages to learn for an English speaker !!!

You'll have much more trouble to learn German !

English as we speak today (ie: the Basic English) was extremely simplified.
But IG, for example, there are many words that are not used frequently.
It seems complicate in French, but an Englishman could use already existing words but he don't have the habit of using them ! He continues to use the most simple words (with tons of implied significations).
It seems incredible but English vocabulary is much richer than French!

Once out of the game, with a common language speaking, English and French have a lot of similar words.

Hi wookiefrag,

Your translation is very good, I made mine too quickly, now it is perfect.

I agree with most of the corrections. I could quibble about the term "spot" which designates a point of light in french, but as you said it's still understandable.

Otherwise, it can be replaced by "repre", meaning landmark.

Good Job

Hi again Kalmeth,

Thanks for answering, but in any case your translation is very good too !
The main difficulty is to respect both French and Bethesda's own translations.

For the main professions, I try to stay as closer as possible to the best French "sounding reality", but to Bethesda too !
And I really think that's the best choice to not turning upside down French gamers.

Thus we have these Bethesda choices :
Alchemy --------------- Alchimie
Blacksmithing ---------- Forge
Clothier ---------------- Couture
Enchanting ------------- Enchantement
Provisioning ------------ Provisionnement
Woodworking ----------- Travail du bois

We can see they chose "Woodworking" ; OK why not ?
The only French term I've never seen is "Provisionnement" ... and it does exist ! But nobody uses it ! They've better to use "Cooking"/"Cuisine" but they don't, "OK ! your rules !".

Anyhow the only word I had a headache was "spot" ... ohhhhh ****.
All the French gamers have to say "T'aurais un spot de gisements de minerai", "Tu connais un spot de farm ..." but it's a English word !!!
(http://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/anglais-francais/spot/614143)
As I said before, we can use "spot" term in some professions, but usually for some technical professions.

Thus I checked on internet "lieu" "endroit" "place" "localit" "indicateur" ... and "emplacement" yeeees.
When I saw "emplacement", I think about "map" and "se reprer, placer un repre" exaaaactly !!!

Such a brainstorming for a 3 char. word.

And I checked the forum to see the news and saw your reply "Otherwise, it can be replaced by "repre", meaning landmark.".

Exactly man, you're totally right : "repre".

Very Good Job ! That's "repre" and only this "real" French word !
By: wookiefrag - 04/11/14 04:17 AM
So I saw on FR Googlemap they use "marqueurs".
But they use "Customiser" (from customise) despite of "Personnaliser" or "Paramtrer".

Anyway your right too Kalmeth !

So everybody's using "spot" in game and "marqueurs" on internet.
Definitively the verdict is that's better to be a Canadian using either fully English sentences or fully French sentences.

Thus according to " 2014 Shinni Inc. All Rights Reserved " we definitevely used "repre".

        ["distancetooltip"] = "Distance maximale a laquelle les différents repères apparaissent sur la boussole.",
        ["compass"] = "Activer la boussole",
        ["compasstooltip"] = "Activer l'affichage des repères a proximité sur la boussole.",
    }
}
And Shinni, you can change it as soon as you'll get time. Thanks for all !
By: Kalmeth - 04/11/14 07:59 AM
To continue the discussion, "Customiser" is not correct, it's a Anglicism, but it is increasingly used in current language.

And for the word "Paramtre". You can replace it by "Dfinit" or a synonym "Dtermine", "Indique", "Spcifie".

Nothing else to add, it's spotless. Well done!
By: wookiefrag - 04/11/14 09:27 AM
Yep, but now "Customiser" is officially a French word too now !
ie: http://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires...stomiser#21072 .

Even if it's strictly reserved to cars and 2 wheels, gamers now are using it IG for example.
They're alrdy using either "Je vais paramtrer mon interface" to set the interface, or "Je vais customiser mon interface" to say they're going to add some interface addons !
By: Kalmeth - 04/11/14 10:50 AM
The word "Customiser" is understood by many French rather as an improvement or transformation. I know, it's idiotic, but real.

The French word is "Personnaliser".
