No more updates: As I'm no longer subscribed to the game, I can no longer keep this addon updated should it stop working in the future. For an alternative addon with similar functionality, have a look at Unified Chat Tabs by zgrssd.

Chat Setup add-on

Allows you to save chat tab configurations and load them in all your characters. Remembers the tabs you create and the filters you've enabled/disabled in each tab. Also remembers the category colors and font size that you choose in Settings > Social.

Usage:

/chatsetup save <name>
- saves the current chat tab configuration as <name>

/chatsetup load <name>
- loads the chat tab configuration called <name>
- Note that this will reload the UI
WARNING: You will lose the current tab configuration when you execute this.

/chatsetup list
- lists the configurations you've saved

/chatsetup remove <name>
- removes the configuration called <name>

/chatsetup clear
- removes all saved configurations

Notes:
- Loading a tab configuration requires the UI to be reloaded. Unfortunately I could not make it work otherwise.
- Partial support for ChatMultiWindow addon. It will load the chat windows and tabs correctly but you may have to reposition the chat windows manually.
- You may also be interested in Binder addon for storing/loading your keybindings between your characters.

zgrssd Forum posts: 280 File comments: 26 Uploads: 3	I figured out that you can apply Category bool values without having to reload the UI. Uploading a updated version of UnifiedChatTabs now that has Autoapply features (since I only need to reload in very rare cases now). I am not sure if you need to reload for other settings (isLocked, isInteractable, areTimestampsEnabled), so I just keep reloading to be certain (changing those is a pretty rare case).

Basic gist is that I had a character that was using a combination of addons, which after a reloadui accidentally replaced my main chat tab. After a reload I would get continuous Lua exception errors. Per ZeniSupport I did a full uninstall/reinstall and that didn't clear out the settings. (They are saved in ChatSystem.lua?) I started thinking a little out of the box at that point and checked to see if my other characters on the same account had the same issues. They didn't.. which I find odd, but it worked in my favor. Because the other character didn't have the borked CharSystem issue I was able to use your addon to copy over the uncorrupted settings from and now it's fixed! Thank you!!

The reason I didn't include it is that I use pChat addon. I'll consider including it...
