Inventory Grid View  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version 1.6.0.0 is compatible with both ESO 2.3.9 (live) and 2.4.0 (PTS)

Replace your default inventory's list view with a more compact grid view! The default list view shows 11-12 items at a time (in my case), so it can become a pain to navigate your inventory.

Grid view sacrifices detailed information for more pictures. Sometimes you want the detailed information, so I've included a button at the bottom that will toggle the grid on and off.

Features:
  • Grid view for your main inventory, your bank, your guild bank, your quest items, NPC's stores, AND the buyback screen!
  • Toggle grid view on and off! Useful for when you need to scan with more information.
  • Customizable grid size.
  • Four default skins to choose from, with more available for download.
  • Authors can submit their own skins for download. (See Inventory Grid View Skin Template for details.)
  • Offsets item tooltips so they do not cover up the grid (can be turned off).
  • Set scale of item icon animation.
  • Works with Research Assistant and Advanced Filters!

Action on this issue is now kind of being forced by ESO 2.4.0. The game now puts the price in the exact place I was for inventory items. I removed it completely for now, but I'm going to add it back for vendor item tooltips since it is not shown otherwise. (actually, it might be all kinds of messed up in IGV 1.6.0.0. I'm too tired to think about it right now)

Lightbulb another suggestion

Turns out this addon also adds item/stack price to an item tooltip. This creates a visual conflict re redundancy when used with other market price tracking addons. Like here:



Can you please make this info optional? Seems to be straightforward change looking at the code. For now I have just workarounded it by disable it altogether in the code GridViewController.lua:690:

Exclamation bug

With the gridview addon enabled when you sell items using normal list view mode then after the you have just sold one item the next one will have a wrong "Equipped" comparison window location overlapping your inventory. See the attached screenshot. Disabling this addon fixes the issue.

Hmm, if I'm opening a bank view then icons are not overlapping and after that my inventory is icons are also all lined up correctly. It's only when I reload ui (or start game) then inventory icons overlap. Here's a screenshot.


And as soon as I opened up my bank everything gets back to normal.
Looks like your icon stays in place and ItemSaver icons are getting shifted to the right.

Lightbulb suggestion

One more idea. Can the grid on/off setting can be saved for different categories of items in the inventory? I.e. if I choose the "all" category I'd rather see it in grid view, but when I switch over to weapons then I'd prefer to see it as a list because I have other info listed next to each item and I don't have many items anyway there. Right now I have to click the grid button every time. Might greatly improve usability and can be made optional via addon settings.

I'm far from an artist, so if someone makes new button textures for me I'd gladly implement the grid/list buttons. Although it should be pretty easy to tell what will happen from context. I dont remember if I attached a tooltip to the button. If not, I can do that in the meantime.

For the overlap, I'd much rather you petition Baertram to move his icons. I admit it's a bit of a territorial thing - both IGV and the original Item Saver were here first

edit: no offense to Baertram. You've been a big help to me as well haha

Arrow suggestion

With FCO ItemSaver the grid switch button at the bottom overlaps with one of ItemSaver filter buttons, is it possible to move it to the left a bit to prevent this? Also one suggestion - use different icons for this button in grid and normal node to indicate which mode it will switch to. I.e. in normal list mode the button would show a grid icon, and in grid mode the icon would have a notion of list. Thanks!

This is fixed for 1.5.4.0, which I will release here during the game patch on the 7th. If you want it now, though, you can download it from here. Just be sure to install it correctly and enable out of date addons (the API version is one ahead of what the game currently expects)

Cool value is missing?

Not sure why but when I switch to grid view and then back to normal then the value column at the right is empty. This makes it impossible to use in merchant stores really. Any idea?
