I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 20 profiles each with 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit or
  • 1 style (outfit, costume, pet etc. using AlphaStyle integration) (optional)
  • 1 FCO Item Saver gear icon (optional)
  • 1 Champion Point Set using Champion Points Slots add-on (optional)

Please backup your AlphaGear settings prior update!

To users of AlphaGear 3
AG 3 is a branch of AG 2 by another developer. It isn't maintained anymore. If you want to switch back to AG 2, just make a backup of your SavedVariables, uninstall AG 3 and install AG 2.
Your builds will then be available in AG 2.

Use cases
  • Switch between different roles
  • Switch between PvE and PvP environment
  • Create two (or more) builds with the same equipment, but different skill bars to create situational skill setups (solo, group, etc...)
  • Switch Outfit and style (using AlphaStyle)



How To...
  • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Execute "/alphagear"
      or
    • Klick on the AG-icon
  • Create a gear set
    • Open the inventory
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the gear sets in the upper pane
    • Drag gear from the inventory (puppet or bag) and drop it into an AG gear set
      or
    • Shift-Click on a gear set number: all currently equipped items are copied into the set
      or
    • Right-Click on a gear set number to open the context menu
    • Select "paste" or "insert currently equipped" to fill the set
  • Create a skill set
    • Open the skills window
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the skill sets in the lower right pane
    • Drag a skill from the skills window and drop it into an AG skill set
      or
    • Shift-Click on a skill set number: all currently equipped skills are copied into the set
      or
    • Right-Click on a skill set number to open the context menu
    • Select "paste" or "insert currently equipped" to fill the set
  • Open the build editor
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the builds in the lower left pane
    • Right-Click on a build number: the build editor is opened
  • Create a build
    • Open the build editor
    • Click on the gear selector: all gear sets in the upper pane are highlighted
    • Select one gear set from the upper pane
    • Click on the skill bar 1 selector: all skill sets in the lower right pane are highlighted
    • Select one skill set from the lower right pane
    • Make sure that the selected skills match the selected weapon
    • Repeat previous steps for skill bar 2
  • Unequip poison
    • Open the build editor
    • Open then build for which poison must be removed
    • Activate the gear lock (make it red)
  • Assign a keybinding to a build
    • Press ESC to open the ESO Menu
    • Open Control/Keybindings
    • Scroll down to the AlphaGear section
    • Assign keys to the builds as needed (e.g. the number pad keys)
  • Rename a build
    • Open the build editor
    • Click in the build name field
    • Edit name as needed
  • Rename a skill bar
    • Open the build editor
    • Click in the skill bar name field
    • Edit name as needed
  • Remove a skill or a gear item from a skill/gear set
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the sets in the upper or lower right pane
    • Right-Click on the skill/item to remove it from the set
  • Deposit or withdraw a gear set at/from a bank or home storage
    • Open banking or home storage chest
    • Open AlphaGear main window
    • Find the gear sets in the upper pane
    • Right-Click on the gear set number to open the context menu
    • Select "deposit set" or "withdraw set" as needed
  • Sort profiles
    • Open the build editor
    • Select a profile with the profile selection
    • Open the profile properties dialog
    • Enter a sortable text in the sort key field
    • You can uses this sort key to group profiles for example

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

AlphaGear 2 Version Numbers

I use the following semantics for AlpahGear 2 version numbers:
<Major>.<Minor>.<Patch> <Qualifier>

Major: Always "6" for the branch that I maintain
Minor: Increases with every new ESO version:
  • 3.1 (Horns of the Reach) = "0"
  • 3.2 (Clockwork City) = "1"
  • 3.3 (Dragon Bones) = "2"
  • 4.0 (Summerset) = "3"
  • 4.1 (Wolfhunter) = "4"
  • 4.2 (Murkmire) = "5"
  • 4.3 (Wrathstone) = "6"
  • 5.0 (Elsweyr) = "7"
  • 5.1 (Scalebreaker) = "8"
  • 5.2 (Dragonhold) = "9"
  • 5.3 (Harrowstorm) = "10" (never made it to release)

Hello! Great addon but I have a question.. is there a way to link two gears in the same build? For example I have 5 pieces body olorime in one gear slot and 3 jewelry in another gear slot. Can I create a build and select those two gears instead of one so that they can sum? This is the feature I am missing since doing this way I can create mix of gears without replicatitng the same pieces of gears in two different gear slots..

Remove entire gear keybind only removing armor

Not a big deal but just reporting it as bug - keybind function for remove all gear only removes armor.

The buttons on the UI interface for remove armor vs remove all gear work just fine - so it seems like the keybind function is either labelled incorrectly (should be remove armor only vs remove all gear), or the function got swapped and is only removing armor when it should be removing all gear.

New Function "delete build":
Will clear references to gear and sets, clears the sets if they aren't used by other builds and resets name and icon to defaults.

New function "reorganize profile":
Will clear all skill sets of the current profile which aren't referenced by a build
Will clear all gear sets of the current profile which aren't referenced by a build
Will sort builds by name and will arrange sets so that the sets appear in the same order as the builds

No, there is currently no way to delete a build. This is related to Matth3ws request to recycle/reorder unused builds/sets. The data structure of AG2 is ehm.. limited. I'll see what I can do.

Hi!

skills are loaded the first time you activate a bar. While in combat, it's not possible to load skills. Thus when in combat and you switch to the other bar the first time, you won't have the expected skills. A good idea would be to flash only in cases where the skill set actually changes. I'll put it on my list

Equipping Mythic Items

This plugin is amazing! The only one issue I'm facing with is the Mythic equipment.
The problem happens when you swithing one gear setup with a Mythic item to another one with the Mythic item in a different slot.
As I can see AlphaGear2 always equips gear in the same order. In case the Mythic item in the new gear setup should be equipped before equipping an item in a slot with currently wearing Mythic item - your plugin writes no warning in a chat log but the slot that should contain Mythic item from new gear setup will contain an item from prevois gear setup.
Example:
a) replacing setup with Bloodlord's Embrace by a setup with Ring of the Wild Hult = OK because the chest slot will be replaced before ring
b) replacing setup with Ring of the Wild Hult by a setup with Bloodlord's Embrace = problem
Can you fix this please? As an easy solution I can recommend to unequip all Mythic equipment first. The better solution - unequip Mythic item from current gear setup only in case this will cause the issue describled above.

Has anyone else experienced an issue where swapping weapons via AlphaGear2 would lock up your character to one skill bar and prevent the use of doors and other interactable objects? I've been having this regularly happen to me and the only way to fix it is to force an animation or to relog.

(I'm not blaming it on this addon, it could very likely be a conflict somewhere else. I'll do more testing later. If anyone has had a similar experience, lmk.)

I previously had auto category syncing with my alphagear 2 sets.

I decided to upgrade to autocategory by Shadowfen while previously having the original version installed. Sets stopped aparing so decided to wipe my variables and start over.

How does alphagear 2 work with this? Struggling to get my alphagear 2 set to show up in inventory. I've even turned off all addons and libs aside from required. Using alphagear ("1") as a rule? returns as unrecognized while alphagear() checks good. Anyone got a explain it like im 5 response?

Is it me? Are my addon installs broke? what is wrong here? frustrated and confused with eso UI

Champion Point Manager integration

Hiya,

With "Use Champion Point Slots" enabled, I am trying to access cp profiles in the Advanced build options of alphagear.
I can select presets from Trials, Trials by Alcast, Trials by Nefas, and Users.
I cannot select presets from Users Account Wide, and this is where the majority (for now) of where my CP presets are stored, so I can retrieve them on multiple characters.
I can load them manually in the Champion Point Slots addon, but there is nothing to select in the dropdown in the advanced build options.

Is there some way to unlock this so I can use my cp presets in Alphagear?
