Zygor Guides ESO Leveling Guide (Community)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 575
by: Hydra9268, Sharlikran
From Hydra9268: Hello, everyone. I have decided to discontinue support for this Addon beginning April 27, 2020. I have no plans to create any further guides, nor will I update the API versions.

From Sharlikran: For now I will be keeping the mod up to date for the current API. Meaning it will load and you can level a character in the zones provided. Only bugs with the API will be addressed if I can find a solution. From time to time if new libraries are released and, if I feel the mod can utilize them I may make changes.

Summerset Notice: This update includes the revamped Summerset Guide. The number of steps has changed. If you are using the Summerset guide, you will likely need to move forwards or back a few steps to bring your progress in alignment.

Addon Recommendations

- If you use Bandit UI, disable its minimap and go with Minimap by Fyrakin. Here's how to disable Bandit's Minimap.

Libraries Needed

LibGPS - LibGPS
NOTE LibGPS Requires: LibMapPing, LibDebugLogger, LibChatMessage so be sure to read the authors description page.

This Addon includes

Zones:

Alik'r Desert
Auridon
Bangkorai
Betnikh
Bleakrock Isle
Coldharbour
Deshaan
Eastmarch
Glenumbra
Grahtwood
Greenshade
Malabal Tor
Murkmire
Reaper's March
Rivenspire
Shadowfen
Stonefalls
Stormhaven
Stros M'Kai
Summerset (Revamped)
The Rift
The Wailing Prison
Vvardenfell (Morrowind)

DLCs:

Clockwork City
Dark Brotherhood
Imperial City
Orsinium
Thieves Guild

Zone that were not completed:

Elsweyr (Northern; Southern)

Future Plans

Currently there are no future plans to add new guides. However, mod authors release new libraries all the time. If something becomes available that would help this mod then it may be considered.

Important Notes

Important notice for former Zygor ESO customers: You can't run Zygor's guide and this guide together. You must disable Zygor's official guide from the Addon menu. If you run both, ESO becomes unstable. Don't worry, though. This guide has everything Zygor's has and more!

Original guide authored by Zygor Guides
Summerset (Revamped), Murkmire, and Elsweyr guides authored by Hydra9268
Bug fixes and improvements by Hydra9268

On March 23, 2018, Zygor Guides announced that they would end support for their ESO guide. Later, via answers given on the forums, they confirmed they would not add a leveling guide for Summerset. Their guide is Public Domain with Zygor's blessing for the community to create guides. So I took it upon myself to create a Summerset guide for the ESO community.

Please note, I can provide some support for existing bugs. However, please remember that I did not author the tool nor those other guides, so my experience is limited. Nevertheless, should you find a bug, let me know in the comments and I will try to patch up where possible. While I welcome any help with the guide, what I need assistance with most is optimizing the Lua script. Feel free to fork the project's Github and see where you can make improvements. Thank you.

That's coming soon to the revamped Summerset guide. I'll revamp the Murkmire and Elsweyr guides to have automatic skips. Keep in mind specific steps like entering homes and caves will still require a manual skip.

Yes. However, the guide doesn't include public dungeons. Given the difficulty of this content for new and solo players, I removed them. Veteran players will likely not have an issue with this content, but I wanted to keep this guide accessible for everyone.

From what I've seen, yes. And it also gets you all the skyshards and lorebooks in a zone as well.
The older guides authored by Zygor offer that. The guides I authored (Summerset, Murkmire, and Elsweyr) do not include skyshards and lorebooks. My reason behind that is there are really good addons they help people find these items.

Hi, Chr0m3. Thank you for feedback. The mini-map and this addon do not communicate together and as such you won't see path or marching dots.

Where are you at in the game that shows the arrow spinning? How did you get there?

Arrow just spins

A working progress bar now is one of the improvements in the revamped Summerset guide that I wanted to share with you all. As I've optimized the guide and added in the "|q" code (this creates a step in the progress bar), the number of steps keeps reducing.

Also, many people requested the steps auto-complete. I'm happy to report most of the guide now does this. There are areas like ramps, stairs, and doors that segue into different maps in real-time. Presently, I'm not aware of any code the Zygor team authored into their addon to detect these kinds of transitions. If you happen to be well-versed in Lua and could review the addon for this and let me know, I would very much welcome it. It would improve my guides and the older guides.

Lastly, because of an a pair of updates on August 5th and 24th, the arrow distance dynamically adjusts its accuracy between zone and indoor/delve/small localized maps. This update should help alleviate many complaints about the range being inaccurate.

Work continues. My goal is to have this revamped guide done by or before March.

I truly appreciate your patience.

Feel free to follow the progress on the project's Github. I'm in the middle of Lost in Translation A Necessary Alliance, The Crystal Tower and A New Alliance are all that remain. There are a handful of side quests in the remaining main story areas, but the bulk of it is done.

Hi. I've been away. Holidays coupled with work coupled with other games. I'm back. I've resumed work on the Summerset guide revamp. It is my hope the revamped guide fixes many of those issues you're reporting. I don't have a precise ETA when it will be available, but I am far into Summerset so I hope to have it completed very soon.

It was fairly easy to get the Menu to display the guide - The only issue I ran into with that guide itself was the fact there is no "Faction" detection built into it - So if you are AD (for example) and you wished to use the guide - You'd have to skip forward @70 steps or so.
I can't speak for the guides Zygor authored, but for my guides I purposely left out skyshards because there are addons that do a better job helping you find them. I wanted my guides to focus just on the missions of in the map in a somewhat linear manner.

Awesome!

It looks like we're back in business. I'll be able to proceed forward with the Summerset revamp. That glitch/bug/whatever it was created a significant amount of lag that prevented me from working on the addon. Apologies for the lengthy delay.

Thanks, Krandor for your efforts. Will try and get the revamp done quickly.

So far ESO appears more stable. Can anyone confirm the game with the addon runs without crashing?
