Thanks for the reply. I already scrubbed the sub-libs and removed all lib-stub using addons, except Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter. That addon is simply too useful to ever remove. It is, however, the only one that still uses and includes it's own copy of libstub.
Ah, there's one other sub-lib left: Voltan's Keybinder includes libaddonkeybinds. Tried removing it in favor of a directly installed version, but it seems Voltan's is more up-to-date (or at least has a specific version he needs). So, I removed the direct install instead. I only have one copy of any given addon or lib and all are updated. All of the above was done before posting about the rChat issues. I've since gone back to pChat, which has none of the bugs of rChat, but also has no account-wide settings (same ugly 1x1 import). I hope rChat becomes usable again, since it seems to be better supported than pChat -- or at least the comments on pChat all seem to indicate bare-minimum maintenance support to handle client changes. |

Re: Buggy History and default channel
Read this if you experience problems with addons like Tinydog's Carfting Calculator. Especially if your addon settings menu is wrong it's a good hint that you got some addon loading outdated libraries e.g. LibAddonMenu-2.0.
Proceed as described, remove embedded libraries from the "libs" subfolder and your problems should be gone (if the addon do not have other issues, breaking addons like rChat/pChat). https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9793 Also read the forums about LibStub removal in older addons. It could be a problem within that addon as well. Basically change e.g. calls like locla lam = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-2.0") to local lam = LibAddonMenu2 The same applies to other libs which are included. Check these libraries description for the global variable to use. Most time it's the libraries name e.g. LibDialog, LibSets, LibLazyCrafting

Buggy History and default channel
There are several features I like about rChat (such as the choice of character name display, timestamps, and restoring old chat), but the primary reason I'm using a chat addon is for larger font and typing history.
The bugs I have are that it will sometimes loose all typing history and stop setting the default channel (/g1 for me) on login or reload -- instead it drops in to /say mode. Also, history no longer lasts more than a few minutes. Typing a command to check it (eg. /foo) and immediately up-arrowing will bring up "/foo" again. After a short while (30s?), both up and down-arrow have nothing. I have a suspicion this is related to a race condition on initialization among other addons or perhaps some other kind of start-up sequencing. The bug seems to be triggered after installing or updating OTHER addons. It's not after every install/update, but it only happens immediately after an update/install. Once it happens, the only fix is to completely scrub everything rChat, reinstall, and reconfigure. I did stumble on a way to quickly reproduce it: install Tinydog's Crafting Calculator. That addon always triggers the issue. Disabling + reloadui would restore rChat functionality. Enabling would break rChat again. I've since removed that addon due to other bugs with it (it also removes all other addons from the settings list), but it might be a way to reproduce the issue your side. The "sync/import" area is also quite squirrelly. It defaults to ON from "895..95", which makes no sense -- suspect it's some kind of character or account-ID. Changing it to import from my main, closing settings window, & reopening will again pop back to "ON" from the numbered ID. And, the major issue I have is again with the sync'ing feature. With 12 characters, it takes 30m to update the chat config at a minimum, assuming I remember to log back on my main, adjust the setting there, then relog to each alt and manually import for each one. I would love ALL settings to be account-wide so I never have to manually migrate chat configs. Baring that, an "export to all" button would save 30m of relogging and importing. If rChat didn't require frequent and regularly reinstalls, setting things up once isn't so bad, but doing it over and over is horribly time-consuming. |

There is an issue that you can't click on peoples names to write them a whisper.
The timestamp is matching the color of the font and it seems that it's missing a "hyperlink". In addition to that the set nameoption in the addon (in my case: @userid(charname)) is overwritten and it's only showing the @userid. Here's a picture of showing what I mean: https://imgur.com/JHXzzat I can't whisper magicspy but can whisper destiny-eagle. Both of their messages are written in /zone. This isn't bound to /zone only. I have witnessed it in /group as well.

I'm making the move from pChat to rChat. Excited to try it after your work on Auto Category!
I really really miss pChat's @UserID/Character Name format. Any chance that could be added back as an option of formats? EDIT: for the time being I changed line 601 to Code:
elseif formatId == 4 then name = atname .. "/" .. toonname EDIT2: and the /r to respond does not react to the spacebar the way that all the other shorthand channel switches do. One must type /r, press enter enter and type their reply.

Friend notifications...
Thanks for your work on this project. I see that rChat suffers from the same conflict with NoThankYou where it will prevent the feature to hide friend logon/logout notification events when loaded. I remember Baertram saying something about it being a change in the ZOS chat code that prevents multiple addons from hooking it somehow, but I have never been able to find a solution.
I briefly looked at the code NoThankYou uses for this and it is a simple ZOS prehook that returns true ('do not run original function') for the friend status event when the associated setting is set to block them. I don't see how that alone should conflict with anything. I tried setting rChat as an OptionalDependsOn in NoThankYou, and vice versa (setting NoThankYou as OptionalDependsOn in rChat), thinking to force one to load before the other to avoid the problem, but it persists either way. I will try and dig into it more if I can find time. |

I'm maybe just being stupid here, but I can't for the life of me get the reply to whisper keybind to work (set to ] on my pc atm). Is it broke or am I being daft?. Thank you.

Hello, but you can somehow disable the reduction of messages in the chat, very often this is such incomplete information.

Hey,
What do you think about adding custom chat filter, where you can block messages that contain certain string? I |
