AlphaGear 2  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.4.0 beta2
by: mesota [More]
Anything you need to manage your skills and gear.

If you'd like to try the new profiles feature have a look at AlphaGear 6.4.1 preview!

I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit

Use cases
  • Switch between different roles
  • Switch between PvE and PvP environment
  • Create two (or more) builds with the same equipment, but different skill bars to create situational skill setups (solo, group, etc...)

New and noteworthy in 6.4.0 beta2
  • ESO 4.1 (Wolfhunter)
  • Fixed: Weapons not equipped properly if moved from main to back
  • For more information see change log

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

Credit goes to...
  • Marify for Japanese translation
  • adrienmoorea for French translation
  • Hoft for Russian translation
  • Snow and many others for valuable feedback
  • UESP for the list of skill ids prior to Summerset

Found a Bug? Missing Feature?
Just post a comment. I'll add (almost) any request to the wish list.

AlphaGear 2 Version Numbers

I use the following semantics for AlpahGear 2 version numbers:
<Major>.<Minor>.<Patch> <Qualifier>

Major: Always "6" for the branch that I maintain
Minor: Increases with every new ESO version: 3.1 = "0", 3.2 = "1", 3.3 = "2", "4.0" = "3", "4.1" = "4"
Patch: Increases with every fixed bug or enhancement within a minor version.
Qualifier: Arbitrary labels like "alpha", "beta" to indicate a version which is not ready for production ;).

Wishlist
  • Arbitrary number of profiles with 16 build/gear/skill-slots each
  • Make AlphaGear icon visible only in the inventory screen
  • Auto-repair armor using repair-kits
  • Auto-repair armor in bag (not only worn)
  • Tooltips for settings
  • Slot for costume
  • Add configurable transparency for all the parts of the mod
  • Add colored icons/change icon colors individually
  • Add different icon sizes (smaller and larger than now)
  • Add means to write changes to the disk without logout (trigger /reloadui)
  • Add indicator for light, medium and heavy armor to BAG_WORN
  • Add set indicator to bank item
  • Split current-set icon into two separate icons
  • Copy/Paste for sets (like copy/paste for gear and skills)
  • Better integration for gamepad mode (skill, inventory, banking)
  • Add a one-button create-build-from-what-i'm-wearing function
  • Integration of stiles (skins, costumes, guild tabard, hat, hair style, etc.)
  • Automatically open AG window if skills window is opened
  • Bug: Parent of set buttons is action bar. Set buttons not visible when AB is hidden

Issues
  • The skill bars are changed to those from the new set, even if the weapons of the new set weren't loaded due to the lack of bag space.

Version 6.4.0 beta2
  • ESO 4.1 (Wolfhunter)
  • Fixed: Weapons not equipped properly if moved from main to back

It's nice to have so I can see if I'm swapping to the right set, but it's in a really strange place right now (resolution 2560x1440 puts it in a conspicuous area of the screen -- vertically centered and like 1/4 from the right side).
You can drag all AG2 UI elements as long as they are unlocked. See settings/"Lock all AlphaGear elements".

-mesota
Sorry: false alarm. I didn't realize that both "Show weapon swap message" AND "Show equipped set" have to be on for it to be movable. For some reason "Show equipped set" alone wasn't showing anything, and "Show weapon swap..." alone doesn't let you move it.

(I also had AUI's Frame Mover on and swapped it for Azurah interface addon; Idk if that interacted with this one at all -- if that's even possible.)

Thanks, anyway!

It didn't, but given your instructions I was able to guess what the cause was. I don't have my combat bar showing outside combat - thus it doesn't show unless targeting something hostile (a red name). The buttons do indeed always show if I toggle the vanilla game options on to always show.

I actually didn't realize that the quick buttons were never supposed to show on the skill menu - they always did for me before. I guess that was a bug on my part.

Either way I started using hotkey bindings to swap anyway - thanks for the help!
You're right: Each UI element has a parent element. Only if the parent element is shown, the children are shown too. The parent of the set button container is the action bar. I'll file a bug.

Feature Request

I don't know if this is on the wish list or not, but I figured I could try!

Now that it's easier to switch morphs and skills, a single character can play a lot of different roles. With Alphagear 2 though, there's only so much space for gear/skills/setups, do you think you could implement a profile system? It'd be great to switch to stamina/magicka setups without having to lose all your setups on alphagear due to lack of space!

I took some screenshots to demonstrate what I was referring to - I was actually expecting you to have heard of it before but I guess not XD

Here are where the buttons normally are, and they show up when targeting a hostile enemy (not when targeting anything else, including neutral [yellow] names):

https://i.imgur.com/lqqyxyW.png

When I press K to open the skills menu, they used to be in the bottom right below my skill bar, too, but they've been gone for....I don't know how long. They were there at the start of this year but I stopped playing and started again last month and they haven't been showing up as the little quick buttons unless targeting a hostile target:

Version 6.4.0 beta2 fixes a problem with jewelry and weapons when the same item is used in different slots. I didn't do anything related to the number of rows. As I mentioned a few posts earlier: You'll have to make the changes again.

-mesota
so you would not be included in the full-featured update that FullHeart said in its commentary with one that would refer to the number of rows to 32. But it's only necessary to change the 3 lines in the addon.
Already stated that it won't be changed:

"Hi folks!

Feel free to change what ever you want. But remember that you'll have to reapply all the changes to every version I release. I won't change this magic number "16" since it's hard to anticipate all the side-effects.

Have fun.

-mesota"
I'm waiting for the author's comment to approve the change (addition of other lines) and I do not think adding more rows would create bugs in Addon.

a is one note
I personally only use the right column (see picture) and I will store all the spells I know and I have a few proofs.
1. It can quickly overplay spells
2. I have this as a list of all spells
3. when I do not know all the spells to the maximum (I do not expose them), so I use it for the end of the task and I give it to you, so to upload the random matches I want to expire (as this speed expands)

You will have to make sure to update the 16 row variable to 32 before you run the game whenever the addon gets updated.
