What It Does
  • *new* Gear drop icon, needed for collection = "green/learn" or not needed = "blue/trade"
  • Tracks which stylepages, motifs, recipes, furnishings and runeboxes are unknown across multiple accounts e.g. @MyMainAccount and @MySuperSecretAltAccount
  • Displays an inventory icon next to item and Displays a tooltip when you hover over it
  • Inventory, Bank/Guild Bank, Store Vendor (npc store) and Trading Houses (guild store) supported

Important Prerequisites:
  • Requires LibStub, LibAddonMenu-2.0 and LibAsync
  • It will run a background scan the first time its installed or a new version or a new API is released to build a list of every available stylepage/motif/recipe/etc, let it complete (if you accidentally reload or quit then you can click "Force Rescan" at the bottom of options to run it again)
  • Have to Restart game for the custom inventory icons to show (reloadui/relogin is not enough)
  • Have to login on every character with addon enabled to build database
  • Other Addons may be placing their icons in the same spot as this so you can go to the options of UnknownTracker and change the position and/or "misc advanced > Icon On Top Level = 10"

Default Colours
  • Green = can learn
  • Blue = have learnt (but some other characters havent)
  • Grey = have learnt (and all others characters have too)
  • These can be changed in "Misc Advanced"

Options
  • Inventory Icons
    • Motifs on/off etc
    • Basic Icon Positioning (Right/Left/Corner)
    • Icon Styles (UT/Tick/Circle/Star etc)
    • Colour Schemes (vibrant/pastel)
  • Characters
    • Learning = default, show icon and tooltip for this character
    • Not Learning = character not tracked (but will show icons/tooltips for items "Learning" characters need)
    • Learning on All Accounts = includes this character even if you are logged into an alt account
  • Misc Advanced
    • Display Icon Only If Unknown
    • Sliders to position Icons
    • Sliders to resize Icons
    • Sliders to adjust Draw Level (Increase this if the UT icon appears under other icons)
    • Colour pickers for Unknown/Known By Some/Known

  • Would appreciate hearing about any problems with ingame motifs/recipes/furnishings/style pages and runeboxes, thanks !
  • All other issues will take a backseat in priority until I've got a solid foundation !

is there any way i can only have the icon show on the item if the character I want to be tracked doesnt know the item

Could we get an option to turn off the tracker in the tooltip? I love the icons, but don't need them listed in the item description. It would be very nice to have the option to turn that off in item tooltips, but in your inventory show the other icons. ESO Master Recipe List shows more info about recipes, so I like having that on.

That icon on a "not learning" character is actually an important feature in my opinion. Without that marker you'd not know if a "learning character" needed the item or not and which to send it to.

And if I'm going to be honest that chat thing is a deal breaker and if you can't fix that I won't be using the app

Suggested modification: Don't show icon for characters that are not learning

Hi,

If there's is only one character that you want to be learning and you don't care about the other characters, then showing the icon for "others known it but you don't" is not helpful because you have 13 other characters who don't know it, and you still don't know at a glance if the one you want to know it knows it. I propose a change to only show the icon if a "learning" character doesn't know it. IE at the if at line 256:

This is not a very efficient implementation, but does achieve the desired result. It should also come with a setting to turn on/off, for those who want all characters to learn something. Of course this does not change the character list at the bottom of the tooltip so people can still look there if they want to see individual character status.

this should happen as long as there are no other addons interfering (many other addons apply their own inventory icons and tooltips, sometimes overwriting UnknownTracker)
I have 18 characters on my main account and numerous alt accounts to help with guild management, with the main character on each alt account tracked as well. And they do NOT all show in my case (simply too long of a list it seems). Such a list shows, but does NOT show ALL my characters that it should by settings...

Like I said, I acknowledge that I have more characters than most folks, but again I ask if it's possible to accomodate my issue please?

P.S. (added the next day) I know a little about programming but am by no means an expert. It seems that at a certain point I overflow the buffer for the maximum tooltip length. This is why I thought the simplest solution likely to split the information into 2 tooltips "Unknown Tracker: Known" and "Unknown Tracker: Needed" as it would perhaps be easiest to use the existing if/then statement that establishes state of knowledge to split the list into 2 tooltip arrays, sending one part of the data into one tooltip (known) and the other data into the other tooltip (unknown).

I assure you that my issue is not with settings that need adjusting on which characters to track or conflicts with another addon. It is most definitely due to a limitation in the game or in the addon code. But my ability to program with LUA is not up to par to just handle this on my own (my bit of training was 40 years ago in Pascal)... hence, I'm asking if you can help me out despite me probably being an edge case with most folks not having that many characters and/or with shorter names.

too many characters

I have far too many characters, I'll admit that. And I LOVE this addon! But, is there any way you can increase the number of characters shown in the tooltip text or prioritize listing the characters who do not know a recipe or whatnot?

It's still a chore to try to find the right one to mail an item to if it shows a mark for "known by some" but does not actually reveal to me which character still needs it.

Perhaps you could make it into 2 tooltips, one for "Known by:" and one for "Unknown by"?

hmmm strange, it is blue which is correct but it should say "trade" (meaning u already collected it), maybe the correct texture didnt load, i will investigate !

you dont need to do force rescan for this, its just a simple function which checks if this piece is collected or not

Updated changelog to show whats new (a stickerbook option basically).

There is no UI, just icons and tooltips you can turn on and off.

I dont use master merchant.

Is there a changelog for 0.69?

Apparently the UI changed - my wife isn't a fan of the changes, so I'll hold off until I can see the changelog.

Looks like Master Merchant also hasn't got its latest changelog, though, so that might just be an ESOUI website thing.

It doesn't track unknown motifs across my Main and my Alternate account. Please help me. I logged in all the characters from my both accounts but still not working.
