What It Does
  • Tracks which stylepages, motifs, recipes, furnishings, runeboxes are unknown across multiple accounts e.g. @MyMainAccount and @MySuperSecretAltAccount
  • Displays an inventory icon next to item and Displays a tooltip when you hover over it
  • Inventory, Bank/Guild Bank, Store Vendor (npc store) and Trading Houses (guild store) supported

Important Prerequisites:
  • Requires LibStub, LibAddonMenu-2.0 and LibAsync
  • It will run a background scan the first time its installed or a new version or a new API is released to build a list of every available stylepage/motif/recipe/etc, let it complete (if you accidentally reload or quit then you can click "Force Rescan" at the bottom of options to run it again)
  • Have to Restart game for the custom inventory icons to show (reloadui/relogin is not enough)
  • Have to login on every character with addon enabled to build database
  • Other Addons may be placing their icons in the same spot as this so you can go to the options of UnknownTracker and change the position and/or "misc advanced > Icon On Top Level = 10"

Default Colours
  • Green = can learn
  • Blue = have learnt (but some other characters havent)
  • Grey = have learnt (and all others characters have too)
  • These can be changed in "Misc Advanced"

Options
  • Inventory Icons
    • Motifs on/off etc
    • Basic Icon Positioning (Right/Left/Corner)
    • Icon Styles (UT/Tick/Circle/Star etc)
    • Colour Schemes (vibrant/pastel)
  • Characters
    • Learning = default, show icon and tooltip for this character
    • Not Learning = character not tracked (but will show icons/tooltips for items "Learning" characters need)
    • Learning on All Accounts = includes this character even if you are logged into an alt account
  • Misc Advanced
    • Display Only If Unknown
    • Sliders to position Icons
    • Sliders to resize Icons
    • Sliders to adjust Draw Level (Increase this if the UT icon appears under other icons)
    • Colour pickers for Unknown/Known By Some/Known

  • Would appreciate hearing about any problems with ingame motifs/recipes/furnishings/style pages and runeboxes, thanks !
  • All other issues will take a backseat in priority until I've got a solid foundation !

It doesn't track unknown motifs across my Main and my Alternate account. Please help me. I logged in all the characters from my both accounts but still not working.

Hi,
i wonder if it would be a good idea, to move blueprints and receipts, which are already known by every character, automatically to junk-tab (maybe as chooesable option).

Usually these are low value receipts/blueprints, which i sell to NPC or destroy (otherwise you wouldnt learn on on each char )

UnknowwnTracker reports wrong value

I have detecet a fault in the tooltip. I had a Style recipe and it was reported by AutoCategory as islearnable(). TraitBuddy also lists the recipe as learnable, but UnknownTracker shows the recipe as learned. I was really confused and tried to learn the recipe and I really could learn it.

noted, keep forgetting to remove it it will be gone with the next update

in the meanwhile check out the libstub page and consider using "/libstubwarning off" to turn the warning off

I wanted to mention that LibStub appears to be depreciated and they are saying that we should respectfully let addon authors know this? So I am attempting to do so...hopefully.

no problem, not sure why AGS is removing/etc other addons tooltips since i dont really use it, the basic guild store menus are more than good enough for all i need

Hello, i will try to look into this when i have time

Check out the "Misc Advanced" section of addon options, there you can adjust the position, resize icons and change the draw level (higher number means it will display on top of other icons)
The issue is not the icons, which display normally. It is with the window that appears to the left of an inventory window to display the details of an item when the cursor is over it or it is selected in the inventory list. When I am viewing my inventory that window includes the UT list showing which characters need or already have the item. When I am shopping in a guild store, that window may be visible very briefly, but it then is obscured by the MM display. I found nothing in the UT settings that would affect that window.
ahh do you mean when you "hover" over a motif, a window pops up and underneath it is all the names of characters and if its known/unknown/etc ?



I see it now, the popup/tooltips disappear when using UT with AGS, i will investigate

Update: seems AGS does something that effects tooltips ? just had to check and wait for AGS to finish.... all is good now i hope, new version should be up soon

check out "Autocategory by @shadowfen", it has integration

In UnknownTracker.lua
  • "UT:GetCharacterList"
  • "UT:IsValidAndWhoKnowsIt(itemLink)"

In UnknownTracker_Utility.lua
  • there are some handy short functions

I marked/commented the functions @shadowfen needed (there are only 2 and at the top of each file)

Motif Shopping in Guild Store

I use AwesomeGuildStore and Master Merchant. When I am shopping for motifs I can't see the Unknown Tracker list of my characters that know the motif. I think the UT display may be hidden behind the Master Merchant window to the left of the store inventory window when I select an item in the store. Is there some way to view both UT and MM displays without overlap?

Do there exist any API funcitons in your addon which I can use (preferebly with bagId & slotIndex or itemLink) within FCOItemSaver to check for known/unknwon motifs/style pages on current/a specified charId or charName, to add protection marker icons on these items?

I sometimes try to read style pages on a char where I do not want it to be read e.g. and thus search for an addon which provides the info so I can automatically mark the style pages.
