[Request] NPC text by request only please
 

I find myself not watching the characters talk, and only listening to them as I read the text. It's messing with the immersion big time and it's saving me little time as I nearly always wait until they've stopped speaking before I continue.

So I'd like a mod that replaces every NPC's text response (not including their name) with a button, "Response in text" or "Pardon" or something similar, that when clicked will reveal that text please.

Now that I think about it I wonder if the Pardon button could be a separate button to get them to repeat themselves but that would definitely qualify as just "nice to have".

Try to use the addon search and search for "dialog" e.g.

I am using Dominoid's Immersive Things since a long time and it still works in the latest game version. Just bind it to a key and you can toggle the dialog text whenever you want. It also adds a button to repeat the npc dialog ;)
