Can't Install Minion Error 5
 

Hi,
When I try to install Minion I got Error 5, can't move the files. I tried to start the installation as administrator but still get the same error. How can I solve this?

"Error 5" is probably a Windows error. That error indicates that you do not have the required permissions to access a file, admin or not. The installation of a tool like Minion can't be resolved with an update or fix when it is a Windows message because programming tools used to make tools and installers like Minion respect Windows permissions.

The second link are the troubleshooting steps. You have to try them all in order. Especially steps 3, 4, and 5 could give you some results as I have made tools for single player games and it's fairly well known to never install things into Program Files because of permission issues.

The minion.log won't be there until the instalaltion was possible, so nothing that applies here.


And Sharlikran should be right. If the setup already fails read the sticky troubleshooting guide, especially point 1: Use the 32bit version installer!And then the other steps about "add your Minion installer to the allowed list at your antivirus and anti-malware tools", same after install add the Minion.exe there.
