Thumbs down tutorial question: unable to unload add-on?

Fiddling with the 'first add-on' tutorial. Everything is going fine as far as the tutorial is concerned. I've noticed that if I try to uncheck the add-on in the in-game 'addons', the uncheck happens, but when I reload the UI, the add-on reverts to being checked 'on' again.

Is there something that needs to explicitly be done to allow an add-on to be unloaded via that in-game add-ons menu?

Thanks!

When in the Character Addon menu, you only turn it of for this character, not all Characters.
Only the menu next to character select can turn it off for all.

I did notice a minor bug with XML errors appeareing after the causing Addon has been unloaded.
And Addons can turn each other on/off (there is one to turn all off).
Maybe it is also used a non-optional Dependency, thus the game turns it on to keep the other addon working? (not used Dependiecies beyond optional so far)

Generally there should be nothing preventing the unload.

So, it turns out if you have a space in the name of the add-on, these sorts of problems occur.

I never use spaces in names of folders/files anyway, old habit from years of unix, but this was a project my son was working on and didn't have the same reluctance to use spaces.

Lesson learned: don't use spaces in names of modules/module dir names, etc.

Ooh... Good to know. I hadn't tried a space in a name yet.

That is what Zenimax says in thier Addon Toutorial, third sentence:
No spaces in the addon name
