Tracking Recipe Knowledge & Updating When Learned
LONG! Brief remarks about the quoted comments are added between braces {...}.
So, there are two options. One is signify "marked unknown" with a red checkmark, and "marked known" with yellow. Or use yellow for "marked unknown" and use blue (or red) for "marked known". (In other words, it is best to never use the color green to signify the status of anything.) The "marked known" option is interesting. It could signify only that the character for which the UI is shown already knows the recipe. Or it could signify that the recipe is known by one or more of the player's characters but not by all of them. The names of the characters which know the recipe are added to the tooltip, in either case. Regardless, "marked known" should not be shown when a recipe is known by all characters for which marking is configured -- albeit, currently it is shown. After a recipe has been learned by all of a player's current characters, then its status should be changed to "unmarked known".The other option -- which I would like added -- is to auto-update from "marked unknown" to "unmarked known". That is, when a character learns a recipe, then it will no longer be marked in lists displayed for the Inventory (Bags), Guild Stores, Bank Account, and Home Storage for that character. The disadvantage is that a character might find a recipe which the character knows, but which another character of the same player has not learned yet. (By the way, the tooltip list has often been incomplete or otherwise incorrect, but that's a bug which I haven't informed you about yet. ) Regarding the EDIT:
Regardless, a player should have the option to set a known recipe to "marked known", for the usage that I described above.

Hey thx for the reply.
Yeah i just like that every char i got, know everything You can skip the quote part, its me rambling, trying to explain why i were using manually tracking.
But somewhere on the road here, i must had thought that was the way to do this, but errm not so much anymore So all i have to do is not track anything Sorry for me rambling like a maniac. And no no, i understand now, but i just do not understand how i came to the conclusion that i had to add some thing to tracking, to show that the current char did not know it, when all i had to do was really nothing |

If you only care if one specific character knows the recipe (your cook) then enable tracking characters and choose that character for cooking. On any character from then on, your inventory icons will automatically update when they learn a recipe. To have icons auto-update per-character you can leave tracking character set to off and enable the option to show unknown for the current character (also under Icon settings). This has to be set per-character. Setting recipes to tracked is more for being able to find them easily at a cooking station, or for searching guild stores to find certain recipes easily. You can still set recipes to track, and their icons will overwrite any other status icon in your inventory, but if you just want to see a green icon when a recipe is unknown by your current or tracking character and have it auto-update and clear when that character learns something, that is the preferred way to do it. EDIT: I hope I understood correctly... I guess I am not clear why you would want use manual tracking to keep track of what recipes a character knows when the 'track unknown' options already do this and auto-update. It would be possible to add an option to automatically un-track a recipe when learned, though it would be a bit complicated since it would have to detect if you were using a tracking character and optionally un-track if they learned a given recipe as well. I can also see some confusion/unwanted behavior with this option if people didn't understand what it was actually doing and enabled it thinking that is how they needed to keep track of what was known/unknown as lists of tracked items would be modified based on known/unknown status even if you were just using them for finding things at a cooking station. Also, what to do if you manually set something to track that your current character already knows? Instantly un-track? That seems like a bad option overall, which is why I wanted to explain how tracking unknown under Icon Settings works. Maybe I will make a video to explain better if it would be helpful.

Hey, is there a way to automatically remove "Tracking" of recipes once you learn them.
As of now on every char when i learn a recipe, i open the Master Recipe list, press the "Clear active search list." pressing the "Mark all recipes the selected....." and with 10 chars, its a lot of pressing. So want to know if there is a way for your addone to do this automatically, every time i learn a new recipe. ? If not, well i have lived with it til now, so i can live with it in the feature |

I am unable to reproduce this and have no explanation why it would happen. Maybe some weird game glitch involving the number of letters in a character's name, or special characters, though in my test this made no difference. Maybe it would help if you could PM me a list of all your character names EXACTLY as they appear (special characters, capitalization, etc.) and mark the two that won't display correctly. It might help me see some pattern. Let me know first if completely deleting the addon and reinstalling helps.

No answer via PN, so I need to post it here.
I have blank space between my char names and I dont know how this comes or how I can change this. its looks ugly and I dont like it so. I looked also in the savevariables and I dont found any other names (only the 15 I have). maybe someone has a hint, it would be nice thx |

Is the saved vars reset now a permanent "feature" of every update? I only ask because this is the third or fourth time the saved vars have been reset recently.
