this is a great update...i know that i'm the one who asked about displaying only characters on your own megaserver, and thank you for such a quick response to that, but i think i like the known/unknown sorting even more...
thanks so much for this addon, i can't play without it |

Remove MasterRecipeListAltFormat.
MasterRecipeListAltFormat is not part of this addon. It is a 3rd party mod for this addon that is no longer needed as this addon now does this on its own.
Uninstall the MasterRecipeListAltFormat addon and the errors should cease. |

Uh oh. What do I need to do about this:
user:/AddOns/MasterRecipeListAltFormat/MasterRecipeListAltFormat.lua:155: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback: user:/AddOns/MasterRecipeListAltFormat/MasterRecipeListAltFormat.lua:155: in function 'OnAddonLoaded' |caaaaaa<Locals> event = 65536, name = "MasterRecipeListAltFormat", accountName = "@Minyassa" </Locals>|r Is there something I was supposed to delete? I try to follow any instructions in the update notes, but maybe I missed or misunderstood. |

Re: New features and fixes...
Just in case someone gets here and hasn't read the changelog properly, but wonders why the settings were reset and why no known/unknown recipes are shown properly:

@RavenMind:
Thanks, and no worries. As it turns out, changing to indexing saved variables by unique ID (name change proof) instead of the current display name indexing required changing saved variable declaration type to NewCharacterIdSettings for the character saved variable tables and when using that format, it automatically stores the literal character name as a variable within the main ID table. |

Sorry, but this is beyond my very limited understanding of LUA & coding in-general. The only idea I can come up with is to maybe use of one of these: Code:
ZO_GetPrimaryPlayerNameFromUnitTag(unitTag, useInternalFormat) ZO_GetSecondaryPlayerNameFromUnitTag(unitTag, useInternalFormat) ZO_GetPrimaryPlayerName(displayName, characterName, useInternalFormat) ZO_GetSecondaryPlayerName(displayName, characterName, useInternalFormat) ZO_GetSecondaryPlayerNameWithTitleFromUnitTag(unitTag) ZO_GetPrimaryPlayerNameWithSecondary(displayName, characterName)

Thank you!
Fantastic Update! A very big thank you for your outstanding work <3
So much appreciated to visualize the chars who don't know the recipes! It's incredibly useful to not go through a lot of names! You also took care of the ones not in game anymore. Truly awesome, this addon is a must have |

Still working on the next version. Have had family I don't see more than once a year visiting from out of state for the past couple days.
I have been looking through the documentation for a way to take the ID you get from GetCurrentCharacterId() and GetCharacterInfo(i) and turn it into a text string unit name like GetUnitName("player"). If there was a way to get a character's name from their unique ID that would be great, otherwise I will have to store the text name in a separate ID lookup table to populate the character selection menus. |
