Re: Re: No Icons

TY, I still had it in the version folder. Didn't realize it had another sub folder since it seemed to be working ok.

There are typically two reasons for that:
1. Be sure you unpacked it to Addons\SkyShards, not Addons\SkyShards<version>\SkyShards
2. If ESO was running, you have to close ESO and delete "Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\ShaderCache.cooked"

No Icons

Mod is not showing the icons on the map. Oddly enough if I move my mouse over an area I get the text of there being a skyshard there, but no Icon.

This is the only mod I am using, on a fresh install so no conflicts. I've tried using the alternate icon option but none of them show either.

The solution was found and documented by MMsh below. It turns out to be bad packaging by the developer, which happens from time to time. I have included a link to the ESOUI Wiki page that documents what ESO add-on folders are supposed to look loke. Enjoy the read; especially the first paragraph that explains why the folder and manifest file names HAVE TO MATCH:

Thanks for the reply Drakanwulf, I do appreciate it. I attempted to accomplish what MMsh had done below but I don't notice anything wrong according to the link you provided. When in game with Skyshards installed I clearly see it's there but just doesn't show any icons on the map. I'll continue to check it out and hopefully come up with a solution. Thank you again.

Skyshards not working?

I've used this add-on before, but since coming back to the game I'm finding this one isn't working. I've tried both installing manually and using minion. No errors, but when I have Skyshards checked in the filter list nothing happens. Lorebooks works no problem though.

Any suggestions?

Actually, I managed to fix it by changing the map pin icons to something other than the default.

The addon does really work ok (for myself, and many others), so it's probably related to another addon, or settings somehow.

What happens if you run Skyshards by itself? If you have icons, then some other addon is interfering. If you still can't see the icons, erase the SavedVariables\Skyshards.lua file (when out of the game), then run up ESO again with only Skyshards loaded and see if you have icons. If the icons are now working, turn on the rest of your adddons.

If the icons vanish again after turning on all addons, turn off half (leaving skyshards on), see if it's working. If not, flip what's on, test again. Keep narrowing it down by halves until you find out what's causing problems.
No results
I thought maybe activating an unknown skyshard will force the addon to work... but I was wrong. Worth to try anyway

EDIT:
I have found the solution.
I've unzipped Skyshards directly into addons folder so the name of the Skyshards addon folder was not identical with the txt file in it. After matching the folder name with txt file name - everything works just fine.
Thanks for help

I don't own a gamepad that works with ESO, so I can't easily test this. If you disable Lorebooks, does it still happen?
It's a bug in LibAddonMenu. The library is not compatible with the gamepad ui.

This is what I get if I disable lorebooks and locks me out of logging out. It looks like it is only the colour picker that does this.

So in the future when an author removes the libraries, what everyone should do is:
1. Delete the addon from your Addons folder (this will force the game to look for separately installed libraries as outdated info doesn't get overwritten if there's nothing to overwrite it with- such as a lib folder)
2. Copy the entire contents of the new zip file you already downloaded to the aforementioned Addons folder
3. Downloaded the required dependencies, assuming they aren't already installed due to an increasing number of authors choosing to go this route, and copy them into the Addons folder as well
I will eventually remove dependent libraries too, but I wanted to make sure all was working as it should be first.

Thanks for the description on dealing with library dependencies. Hope everyone actually reads it.
