Font Changer (updated)
Version: 1.5
by: zetauma [More]
Changes the fonts of most things in-game.

This is a fork of the FontChanger addon by Ferrety (and later modifications by Antisenil)

Primarily, this fork aims to simplify the process of adding new fonts to the addon by providing a batch script to generate the .slug files for you. See detailed instructions below.

It also adds some new options to the addon settings to more easily change the fonts in game.

Dependencies
Notes
  • Supports the PerfectPixel addon
    • automatically overrides the fonts used by PerfectPixel if it is also installed
  • Some fonts are not able to be changed by addons (i.e. Crown Store).

How to add additional fonts
  1. Download your desired font in TTF format
  2. Copy & Paste into the FontChanger/fonts/ttfs folder
  3. Locate slugfont.exe in your ESO installation and copy it to FontChanger/fonts*
  4. Run FontChanger/fonts/slug.bat
  5. This will automatically generate .slug files for all the fonts in the ttfs folder and update
  6. CustomFontOptions.lua
  7. Load up the game or run /reloadui to see the new fonts in the options menu

*Some common locations of slugfont.exe are:
  • C:\Program Files\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\slugfont.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\slugfont.exe
  • C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\slugfont.exe

Disappearing From Settings > Addons After Adding Fonts

Font Changer seems to work fine for me prior to adding fonts, however, after I add my .ttfs to the FontChanger\Fonts\ttfs folder and run slug.bat, then reload ESO, it's still checked/active in the Add-Ons menu but does not appear under Settings > Addons. I've confirmed that all of my fonts are in .ttf format and all of the fonts I'm using were working in Pawksickles (which has been uninstalled) prior to running Font Changer.

After I close ESO, I see an error in the launcher which states that the previous launch failed, possibly due to corrupted files, and verifying might resolve the issue.

Is there something I'm missing? I'm really looking forward to using this mod and it seems like an improvement over Pawksickles (which sadly no longer works). Thanks for creating/updating it!
