This addon allows you to use the fast travel functionality of the game in a comfortable and highly-customizable way. All fast travel options you have through your guilds, friends and group are listed in a clear way and are usable with different search and filtering features. To get the most out of it, as with any other addon, it is recommended to check the settings after initial installation.

Dependencies
YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE FOLLOWING LIBRARIES SEPARATELY:

LibAddonMenu-2.0 (to manage the addon settings)
LibCustomMenu (to manage context menus (right-click))
LibSlashCommander (to manage chat commands)
LibZone (zone data)


Optional dependencies
The following libraries/addons are not necessary, but extend the features of BeamMeUp (integration):

Port to Friend's House (display of your guild halls or friends houses in BeamMeUp)
LibSets (see your set item collection progress directly in the zone name's tooltip in BeamMeUp)
LibMapPing (to use MapPings)


AFTER ADDON INSTALLATION A COMPLETE GAME RESTART IS NECESSARY. OTHERWISE, THE ICONS OF THE ADDON WILL NOT BE LOADED CORRECTLY.

You find our guilds by clicking on the guild button in the upper left corner of the addon interface (2) or via the guild finder.

All features:
  • Search, Filter, Favorite, Customize
    • Sorted list of all fast travel options and much additional information
    • Search by player or zone names
    • Easily port to Group Leader or Group Members in Dungeons (always on top) and see if they are in the same game instance as you
    • Set specific players or zones as favorites and easily port to them via keybinding
    • Use the different tabs to find Fast Travel options to the open/displayed map (world map) and also to the Delves located there
    • Use filters and blacklists and many other options to customize your personal filtering (e. g. show only Overland maps or hide different types of zones)
    • Filter by only group, friends or guild members via the right-click menu

    • Manually add a player to favorites (e.g. /bmu/favorites/add/player @DeadSoon 1) (player name and slot)

    • Create custom elections/votes in your group (e. g. /bmu/vote/custom_vote_unanimous Do you like BeamMeUp?)

  • Extras / Special features
    • Set a second language for searching for zone names
      • Set another main language in the options
      • You can search by zone names in your client and in this second language at the same time
      • The Tooltip of zone names shows also the name in the second language
    • Receive a notification when a player favorite comes online
      • Enable this option to see a short notification/center screen message when a favorite player enters the game
    • Intelligent error handling
      • Detection of errors while porting and output of a note in the chat
      • When an error occurs while porting (player you try to port to is in the loading screen) the Addon automatically starts a port process to another player
    • Share your travel destination via the chat
      • If you right-click on the travel button, the teleport will start as usual but, additionally a clickable Link will be printed into the group chat (you have to press Enter!). Your group member can follow you by clicking on the Link (this also allows you to share your houses)
    • Integration into Bandits User Interface
      • A button for BeamMeUp is automatically inserted into the sidebar of Bandits User Interface Addon
    • Useful notification while mining a survey map
      • If you mine a survey map and there are still some identical maps (same location) in your inventory, a notification (center screen message) will inform you (disabled by default).
    • Useful offline reminder
      • If you stay offline for a while while using BMU or whispering to someone, a discrete screen message will remind you that you are still set to offline. This feature helps to avoid unwanted blocking of replies and accidentally staying offline (enabled by default!).
  • Meaning of Colors:
    • GOLD = player and zone favorites
    • ORANGE = Group members
    • GREEN = Friends
    • BLUE = current zone (where your character actual is)

Known Bugs:
  • No players you can port to / empty result list
    • Remember, free fast travel is only possible to your personal group members, friends or guild members. So first of all, you should check if any of your contacts are online and in a "normal" zone (no instance or pvp zone).
    • If you still cannot see any port options, check your addon settings. You can also try resetting them to defaults.
    • Finally, disable all other addons except BMU and its libraries and test again. Especially, language patches can corrupt ingame functions that are used by BMU.
  • Missing icons
    • If you still cannot see any icons/buttons after the installation of the addon, please restart the complete game. Unfortunately, ESO loads custom icons only once at game start.
    • Also, please check if you installed the addon correctly and that the addon folder BeamMeUp is placed correctly in \Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\
    • If you then still cannot see the icons/buttons, please close the game and delete the file ShaderCache.cooked in the live folder.
    • In rare cases, the McAfee antivirus solutions can delete/block the icon files in the addon folder. You can try to disable the protection while downloading and installing the addon. You can also check if dozens of .dds files are in the /BeamMeUp/media/ folder.
  • Issues with Pan&Zoom
    • When using BeamMeUp together with the outdated addon Map Tools, the Pan&Zoom feature might not work correctly. You can disable Map Tools or the Pan&Zoom feature in BeamMeUp.
  • Gamepad mode
    • The gamepad mode is currently not supported! Gamepad Mode users have to use the mouse (or keybind) to open the addon interface manually. If you notice any bugs while using the Gamepad Mode, please let us know!

With the update 7.3.5 (Ascending Tide), ZOS has unfortunately decided to prevent the unlocking of wayshrines without a complete teleportation process. We are working on finding an alternative to make it possible for you to unlock wayshrines again in the best possible way.

Being grouped bug?

Hi There,

I had hoped to get someone else to verify this behaviour but no luck... I know if I don't provide the feedback now I will forget.

High Isle event is on, lots of groups. Zone with a buggy map.

It seemed to me that whenever I was in a group with others on High Isle I could no longer see High Isle in my BMU locations, even though I 100% knew I had many friends and guildies there. As soon as I left a group I could see it again.

I was unable to check the most obvioust follow on questions:

Did this happen if your group was in a zone other than High Isle?
Did this happen to the zone a group member was in but you were not in that zone (or various permutations of this one)

I did verify this in two separate groups and would be happy to try further testing with some guidance on what you need to know. Love the addon - small issue - but wanted to report.

Hey, thanks for your kind words. Your idea is currently not supported and Im not sure how the prioritization can be provided in this case.

The only simple option I see is to consider the nick names of the houses. As you already know you can customize the sorting of your own houses in the houses tab. Via context menu you can display and edit the nick names of your houses. Since the list is sorted by name you can sort your houses list easily (e.g. "1 - my home favorite home", "2 - my other home" and so on). The nick names of the houses could be considered in the same way when deciding which home should be displayed in the main list (when nobody is there). Of course, because the nickname is not visible in the main list, its more like a hidden feature . However, it could be a simple solution.

What do you think?

Hello =)
A really big thank you for this addon. I'm using it nearly constantly and since a long time and it's so helpful for nearly anything one can do in the game.

What I've been wondering though, is if there is any option to set which house in a zone is selected, when nobody is there?

I will consider the idea with the cursor. I have to check if the events technically work reliable for this purpose.

However, you can already mitigate this issue: In the settings of the addon, in section "Listings" check the last option "Refresh interval". You can decrease the refresh rate by setting the value e.g. up to 7. BMU now refreshes all the data in the list every 7 seconds. This will mitigate your problem.

But will lead to more teleports in the wrong destinations on the other hand, if you do not refresh the list by hand just before you teleport. The best way to make sure to travel into a certain zone is to mark it as favorite before or use the /bmutp/zonename command

I would like to see option to increase number of favorites. 10 would be perfect in my opinion. I have a few places I like to travel to but often times nobody is there so I have to browse down to the next best spots.
You can also use the search button for that, but i guess 10 is indeed not a bad idea if you use it more like a "to-do-list" as i do sometimes by marking quest zones and stuff depending on ingame events or new motif drops. I guess we will discuss this and if possible increase the number.

I got your point but I dont see any real benefit. Why not simply clicking the first or "any" entry in the BMU main list or just use the hotkey for the current zone or "any" hotkey of the favorite zones?! In that way you will also get to "any destination". I really see no real benefit for the general user base to implement a function to select randomly an available zone.

You are right. If you would try e.g. the hotkey for current zone and there is no player, you will get an error and you have to select another zone actively. Since this will reduce only one or two clicks Im not sure if the implementation effort is worth it. However, I will add it to the wish list but with low priority. Sorry.

EDIT:
One information that might be interesting for you: I already plan to implement an option that allows traveling to zones via hotkey or chat command even if there are no players (with cost). Example: You want to travel to the current zone and you use a hotkey or the chat command, then (if the option is enabled in the addon settings) BMU will start a fast travel even if there is no player you can travel to in the current zone (you have to pay the game's fast travel fee). I think this comes a little bit closer to your actual suggestion.

But this is currently only an idea and I first have to check if the API reveals to me a nodeId of a wayshrine for a given zoneId.

I think I understand how this might be misread - you reasonably read it as "at least pay money to teleport to a wayshrine within the current zone" rather than "at least teleport to the first available wayshrine that you DO have a friend/guildie nearby, literally anywhere in the game."

See, the problem I'm trying to address with this suggestion is that I want to get to somewhere, and there are two ways I can do it, both requiring two hops:

1) BMU directly to that zone; then use the wayshrine to go from there to the nearest wayshrine to my goal, unless I happen to already be there (this is the fastest path, and the one BMU currently does best!).
2) BMU to any wayshrine, in any zone in the game; then use that wayshrine to go from there to the nearest wayshrine to my goal (BMU does not currently support this workflow as fluidly).

Either way, BMU gets me there in two hops. But for some reason, these are two separate operations in BMU, involving two entirely different sequences of clicks, rather than automatically trying the second if the first one fails.

I was thinking the same, but as mentioned in the changelog its only a first beta because the way it is right now was the lowest effort with a glimpse on how we want it to be in the future and will be refined with future updates.
At least the idea behind it seems to work, but yes we should maybe log the errors in the chat instead of making the progress stop because of them, as long as it is possible.

The unlock random zones is a great idea, however I never get past more than about 6-10 wayshrines then I get a hard stop with a "TIMEOUT". Is it possible to mitigate this error, or just have it keep going if it fails to a particular person?

The paid fast travel is exactly what BMU tries to replace. However, I got your point and I understand that it is sometime easier to pay a bit gold and to jump back to the nearest wayshrine fast in the zone (especially because the loading screens are faster in comparison of traveling to another player in the current zone). We will consider if an option in the settings can help for such cases (e.g. as you proposed traveling to any wayshrine in the zone even if it will cost gold).

That is, I'd like a command I can type that is guaranteed to get me to a wayshrine.

This would be useful at the end of the day, as I try to always end at a wayshrine so that future-me can start his day more easily.

Plus, if it's a single command, I can just macro it. Handy when I just want to be "not here" as fast as possible.

Mostly, it'd be useful for harvesting surveys, etc. Usually I pick:
- a zone listed on the "leads, clues, maps and surveys" harvestables-list, if there is one.
- my current zone, if available (minimizes load time).
- anywhere else.

For the zones with no guildies in (quite a few, late at night when I do my harvesting), I just want to get to ANY wayshrine, so that I can port to the correct zone from there.

So, two suggestions and a bonus-suggestion:
1) a /bmutp/any (or maybe just /bmutp) command which tries to send you to a wayshrine in the current zone, or else to just any available wayshrine in the game.
2) Or instead, perhaps a checkbox option in the settings for "if any /bmutp/ command fails because there are no guildies in that zone, then at least tp to some wayshrine, instead of just failing with an error message."

Me too, so far neither the keybind nor any options show up in the 3.3.0 version I downloaded today.
Please ensure that the skipping of the confirmation dialog is disabled. In the settings of BMU in section "General" the option "Hide Auto Unlock confirmation dialog" must be disabled (default).
