Inspired by Wykkyd toolbar, Bar Steward provides 136+ widgets (and counting) that can be placed across multiple bars, aligned either horizontally or vertically. Some of the widgets provide additional information when hovered over. Others can open UI elements when clicked. Some widgets can also provide an audible alert and an on-screen message.

There are also keybinds to toggle hiding/showing of specific bars and a widget creator to create widget for porting to your houses (compatible with Port To Friend's House), also with keybinds.

Hmm - that's going to take some time to investigate - the code is written so that if you use "hide when complete" or "hide when fully in use", "autohide" should be ignored completely. It's very confusing as to why that's not happening for you. I'll do digging to see if I can reproduce the problem - I don't have any characters with all traits researched yet (pesky nirnhoned getting in my way), but I do have ones with completed mount training.
I did a bit of research and i think I found the problem. The option FullyUsed and Complete are not usable at the same time. If you have completed e.g. Blacksmithing the option FullyUsed is useless, as you cannot use the research in this area. The problem lies in bar.lua at line 273. The first branch checks for completion and sets self:HideWhen(metadata, "hide it!"). But the next branch checks for fullyUsed and sets self:HideWhen(metadata, "unhide it!") as the area is not fully used (it isn't used at all as it is completed).

I fixed it by changing the second branch to

Lua Code:
  1. -- check for hide when fully used
  2.     if (metadata.fullyUsed) and not (metadata.complete) then
  3.         if (BS.Vars.Controls[metadata.id].HideWhenFullyUsed) then
  4.             hidecheck = true
  5.             if (metadata.fullyUsed() == true) then
  6.                 self:HideWhen(metadata, "hide it!")
  7.             else
  8.                 self:HideWhen(metadata, "unhide it!")
  9.             end
  10.         end
  11.     end

So this branch is only used, when the area (e.g. blacksmithing) is not completed. With this change the widget works like a charm for all research areas and the mount training .

Another option would be to switch the first and the second branch, means first check for FullyUsed and then for completion.

I would be happy to test any beta version on my characters

Ah - I did some code optimisations on this widget, but couldn't properly test it as I don't currently have any keys. I've reverted it to the original code for the next release and I'll wait till I get some keys before I try again.

I think it's one of those situations where my eyes were seeing what they wanted to see and not the logic hiccup that was present. Well spotted and thanks for the fix - it will be in the next release, which I'm about to push out.

Actually yes, that would be useful - I believe I know the problem now.

If you revert to the last (broken) version, then edit file data/widgets/inventory.lua and change line 574 from:

Hi,

today I tested the new show/hide feature of the bars and found a problem with it. I think you need another status like "settings". The problem is when you hide or show the bar it overwrites all the settings of the widgets within. So if you have a bar with e.g. the mount training which is not complete, this widget is not shown when the bar is hidden and is shown when the bar is shown. But it would be nice to have a third status where the configuration of the widgets is used. It can be on the same hotkey so that you can cycle through show/settings/hide with the same key.

There's no settings overriding going on. The widgets are attached to the bar, if the bar is hidden, then widgets go with it.

I was working on an option to use the value of a widget to determine if the whole bar should be hidden or not - but I need to think about the best way to implement that.

Sorry, I didn't mean that the actual values are overwritten, I mean that the option to show/hide the bar take precedence over the option of the widget. But in this case the options like HideFullyUsed of a widget is no longer used at all, as it always depend on the bar. If the bar is shown the widget is shown as well and when the bar is hidden the widget is hidden independently if and how HideFullyUsed is set. I think it would be useful if there are three different status of the bar:

- "show" means all widgets are shown independently of their settings
- "hide" means all widget are hidden independently of their settings
- "setting" means all widgets are hidden or shown dependent on their setting

The third option is the "old" behavior before the show/hide bar option was introduced.

I've looked into this and the current behaviour you describe (and which I've been able to replicate) is not what I intended.

Turns out there's a flaw in the new hidewhencomplete/hidewhenfullyused logic that is creating this behaviour.

The bar itself should work independently of the widgets attached to it, so binding it for hide/unhide functionality should not affect the widget logic, and in fact it doesn't, but the widget logic is wrong.

I'll get a new release out shortly and we'll revisit your observations then - I don't believe that third option should be necessary.

For me the count for perfect roe is correct, but the one for potent nirn is off. I have 71 in the bag, but the widget says 7.

Hmm - it may be truncating the value - I'll look into that - alternatively you could send me 64 of them then the count will be correct

EDIT:
Strange - it's not truncating when I artificially inflate the numbers. Are they are all in your craft bag or are some in the bank?

Yes, they are all in the craft bag. It's really not a big deal of course, and your work on this bar is outstanding.
