DESCRIPTION
This addon includes many camera features to enhance the game experience.
Gain total control and enjoy all the world using the camera settings you want depending on what you do.
  • Control!
    ⋅ Add some useful bindings to control the camera: shoulder swap, center, …
  • Don't change!
    ⋅ Prevent the camera change that occurs on interactions: chatting, craft stations, style station, lockpicking, …
  • Dynamic!
    *NEW* Camera can be configured to dynamically change when you're moving,
    ⋅ Replace the camera change for each interaction type with a custom one,

BINDINGS
  • Swap camera shoulder side,
  • Toggle camera in center position,
  • Swap / Toggle (If you prefer using only one keybind: 1 press to center, 2 to switch side),
  • All the above got 2 possible bindings: 1 for a smooth switch, and 1 for a fast instant switch,

  • Camera preferred parameters: distance, field of view, and horizontal/vertical position. It overrides the regular camera settings.

  • 3 static cameras can be configured. Only works with keybindings.

  • Prevent any camera change on interactions : talking to NPCs, using craft stations, lockpicking, reading, siege.
    That really is better for immersion not to change the camera on each interaction! You can't imagine.
    For example, when you talk with someone, the camera won't focus on them.
    (I recommand to allow the camera change for “Stations”, anyway, that's strange to craft without moving.)
  • Use your own camera settings when in interactions.

  • Automatically change any of your camera settings when "events" occur: chatting, mounting, in stealth, wielding weapons, in combat, in werewolf form.
  • *NEW* “On movement” event has been added, camera feels more dynamic that ever!
  • Preset can be picked between: None / Center camera on 3rd person / Switch to 1st person / Switch to 3rd person / Custom (Do what you want).
  • There are also some specific parameters for the events: use combat to trigger draw weapon, delay to restore for combat, keep minimal distance while in werewolf…
  • Option to prevent another camera change when on mount.

I've just updated ESO and tried if everything was working correctly.

The settings "distance" and "field of view" are working fine for me!... But... it seems that there's something wrong:
After playing with the NTakCamera settings, you need to trigger an event ON and OFF so that the current "default" camera settings are refreshed.
As it used to be updated directly, I don't know what's wrong (maybe caused by the game updates ).
→ Edit: Now corrected with version 2.3.2, camera is updated when playing with the settings.
And yes, it's possible to get a closer view of the character using these settings.

Your understanding is correct. And it's working that way, as intended, for me!
Don't know what to say… Maybe you're triggering multiple events at the same time?
( You can use the command /ntcam_debug to toggle the debug output in the chat. )

Hey,

Love the addon! I have noticed that with the draw/sheath event that when I draw my weapon it uses the global values and when sheathing it uses the draw/sheath values, is that intended? because the way understand it should work is when drawing your weapon it uses the event values and then returns to global when sheathing.

Hey N'Tak' ,

Thank you for the answer! I finally found the addon settings and I have the LibAddonMenu. Things are working fine in general. Only two settings don't seem to change anything for me: distance from character and field of view. I hoped for a closer view of my character, sort of like you have on the character menu screen. Is that possible with your addon?

Hey trowieuk,

I don't know if I'm getting exactly what you mean.
Do you mean that you'd like the camera to auto-rotate when you're moving your character on the left/right using the keyboard ?
As I'm using the mouse to rotate, I don't have the “issue”.

( This has nothing to do with the "outdated" thing... But I'll update it very soon )
Note that you need to have also installed LibAddonMenu for the addon settings to work!

Hey, thank you very much for the mod, from the description it seems very promising... but it doesn't seem to work for me. I installed it in the "Add-ons" folder in my "Documents", the add-on shows up in the character selection menu as outdated, I checked "load outdated add-ons" (if I remember the phrase correctly), but nothing from this add-on appears in the options under "Camera"... I've seen some multiple additional settings in your screenshots, but nothing of this shows up... There's just the old, default set of camera game settings there. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just the fact that this add-on is "outdated"? It's a real pitty, because I would love to have such flexibility in changing camera settings... Appreciate any help, cheers!

Ok so it's not only me who started suspecting something about it. I just recently started using this and I just did some testing about it and indeed it doesn't do anything differently right now.

And I'm sorry to know you encounter that issue… But it doesn't really surprise me as it's kind of a tricky part.
Be sure that I look forward to correct it ; but as I am currently on a business trip in the other side of Earth, I won't be able to do so at least until the 1st of March.

Did you try reloading the UI after checking/unchecking this option ?

Restore prefereed camera

This is one of the best add-ons for sure!
But I having a issue, the option restore prefereed câmera instead of previous doesn't work. After some test it looks like that when I uncheck the option, after na event it returns to the last position the câmera was before the addon was active.
Could you please look up on this problem?

Hehe… I know that, and I'm pretty sure there are not many people noticing that!
I've done the switching of the horizontal offset/position on purpose since version 1.3.
Why ? ... Let me explain:
If you play with the "horizontal position" in the game camera settings, you can notice that there is a jump in the animation when changing the value from 0 to 100, and vice-versa.
( It is more noticeable when playing with a low distance value. )
This "jump" is caused by a kind of "triangle function" that is putting the camera above the head when at a horizontal position value of 0.
As Zenimax only put that jumpy "triangle function" on the horizontal position, I chose to alter the horizontal offset instead, by default.

I didn't change all the names because it wasn't necessary in my opinion.
But, you're right, it will be more accurate if I did!
