PersonalAssistant (Banking, Junk, Loot, Repair)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.5.23
by: Klingo [More]

PersonalAssistant V2

There are already many addons out there that support Auto-Repair or Auto-Gold-Deposit functionalities, but none of them had the features I'd like to have seen. Because of that, PersonalAssistant was born.

After a two year long break from ESO, I finally managed to complete the major refactoring that started back in 2017. But not only that, I also added many more features that I could not even have thought of back then. I hope you will have as much fun using this addon, like I had working on it!

PA General
  • Up to twenty different account-wide profiles per module that can be created/copied/deleted/renamed
  • Keybinding to travel to your primary home (if available) *NEW* (2.5.18)

PA Banking
  • Currencies (gold, alliance points, ...) can be withdrawn from and deposited to your bank
  • Crafting materials can be withdrawn from and deposited to your bank (if you are not ESO Plus Subscriber)
  • Create your own custom rules and decide how many of each item to keep in bank or inventory
  • Other selected items such as motifs, recipes, writs, glyphs, trophies etc. can be withdrawn from and deposited to your bank
  • Select if items with [Intricate] trait should be transferred from/to the bank
  • Define a specific amount of lockpicks, repair kits or soul gems to always keep in inventory or the bank
  • Be always ready for Cyrodiil and define how many AvA items to keep in inventory

PA Integration
  • Support for various FCO ItemSaver marks
    • PABanking: Deposit or withdraw item marked for/as Research, Deconstruction, Improvement, Selling at guildstore, and Intricate *NEW* (2.5.18)
    • PABanking: Locked items will not be moved *NEW* (2.5.18)
    • PAJunk: Sell items marked for selling
    • PAJunk: Locked items will not be sold

PA Junk
  • Trash items can be marked as junk
  • Items with the "sell to merchant" information can be marked as junk
  • Treasures (such as the ones found when stealing) can be marked as junk
  • Items with [Ornate] trait can be marked as junk
  • Weapons, Armor, Jewelries, or Glyphs below a certain quality level can be marked as junk (quality threshold can be defined)
  • Junk can be sold at merchants and fences
  • Save time and use keybinding shortcuts to mark items as junk or directly destroy them
  • Mark any item as permanent junk so you never have to deal with it again
  • Items below a definable sell value can also be destroyed instead of marked as junk

PA Loot
  • Informs you when an unknown recipe is looted
  • Informs you when an unknown motif/page is looted
  • Informs you when an item with a not yet researched trait is looted
  • Informs you when a set item is looted that is not yet part of your set collection
  • Informs you when a companion item is looted *NEW* (2.5.18)
  • Informs you when you are running out of inventory space (threshold can be defined)
  • Visually indicates if a recipe, motif, trait, or style page is known (or not) to the current character

PA Repair
  • Repairs your items for you when you visit a merchant (threshold can be defined)
  • Repairs your items out on the field when you have repair kits available (threshold can be defined)

Double Chat/Sys Messages

Some items (Pardon Edicts, Soul Gems) generate double deposit confirmation sys messages. I thought this was tied to the whole withdraw/stacking/redeposit process for items already in the bank - but noticed adding to the stack of Lockpicks doesn't generate the double system/chat message.

Is the way Lockpicks are added to existing bank stacks different than the way Gems/Edicts are added to existing stacks?

Love PA, thanks for all the work you put into it!

Master Writ Glyph's put into bank even FCO Item Saver has them locked

As the subject states, I deposit Glyph's to the bank so my alts can extract them, however, Master Writ glyph's created with Writ Worthy are deposited even though they come out locked w/ FCO Item Saver.

I have deposit on for Glyph's in general, but under Integration, I have both FCO Item Saver settings turned on.

Please advise.

I'm a new user .. and to the game.

I'm trying to find an addon that moves items to Junk, so I can then sell them easily. I installed this and then manually right clicked each item to junk. It seems that some things are moved, but some are not. Oddly, it isn't tracked even if it does.

I've gone through the settings and enabled everything, I've double checked that it is actually marked as junk permanently, but it still wont get moved. I was told to install FCO Itemsaver, I've done that. I was told to uninstall advancedfilters, I've done that. I was told to uninstall gridview, I've done that.

As an example, I just want when I loot certain poisons, that they move to the junk folder. That's all I'm really looking for. I can't seem to find a way to do that.

The only way to get them to move to the junk folder, is to unmark them and then remark them... but that defeats the purpose, as I can just right click and mark as junk.

This is a poison that is marked through PA, but it will not move.

Do you know a plugin that can simply just move items to junk folder that I can then later sell?

Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, the keybindings don't work properly with gamepad mode - I will have them disabled in the next update. (I'm currently not aware of a way to figure out which item is "selected" in gamepad mode).

Do you mean "unlocked" in the way that the trait has already been researched?

Not yet, I introduced some improved debugging though with the latest version now.
For one, there is now a timestamp in the debug window. And all debug messages are now also stored in the SavedVariables file (until you close the debug window; then all messages will be cleared).
Once you have the new version (2.5.22) installed, can you please turn on debugging again (/padebugon), reproduce the issue and then type /reloadui to force saving the SavedVariables file.
All debug-messages are then stored here: C:\Users\__username__\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\PersonalAssistant.lua
If you could share the content of that file with me then, that would be great.

This will come with the "Advanced Banking Rules" - but this will take some more time as the new companion gear messed up a lot of the already done implementation
That sounds good. The rules now are only per the exact item. I would like to be able to say "all unequipped armor" or something like that in the rules. Please do tell me if I missed that option.

It does it for glyphs now.

I also know I may run out of space a lot, but that happens already.

Seconded, I also use AutoCategory - Revised and the performance hit is agonising...

If you and the author of AC can fix it that would be awesome

Yes, and if you look at the whole line you can see for example:
Code:
stackCountChange=-3
This is because your backpack inventory changed and an item that had three stacks has been moved away to the bank (thus the change is negative). But you're right, I could actually check for negative changes and then skip the rest of the PAJunk logic. While it is an optimization, I don't think it makes a difference here because PABanking and PAJunk work independently of eachother - meaning while PAJunk is checking if the item should be marked as Junk, PABanking is continuing with the item moving.

But glad you could find the culprit here. I quickly downloaded it and run some item transfers with ESOProfiler enabled to see where the time gets lost... oh my, this is a terrible performance hit!
Even with PersonalAssistant (and all other addons) disabled, it takes 1-2 seconds per item to be moved with AutoCategory enabled... oof...

This is the profiling outcome of two subsequent item transfers initiated by PABanking that spans a time of approx. 3.5 seconds:

The green marked section is PABanking. The first one is bigger (~80 milliseconds) because there I initially go though the whole inventory to identify the items that need to be moved. The second one (~3 milliseconds) is much smaller, because this simply executes the 2nd item transfer and the third one wraps up the item transfers.

The blue marked section is PAJunk (~0.5 milliseconds). This is the "_OnInventorySingleSlotUpdateInternal" that you mentioned before is "called all the time"

The orange marked sections... that's AutoCategory's custom "prehookSort" that seems to be executed four times(!!) per moved item; and as you can see, it takes significantly more time (almost 1.5 seconds in total, per item).

I will collect some more information and post this in the comments of AutoCategory - that's something the addon author should urgently look into.

PA Performance Problem

I did some more testing, I always tested with 165 items to be transferred to the bank:
  • PA Alone: 34 seconds
  • My default AddOns: 57 seconds
  • My default AddOns without Autocategory: 35 seconds

So AutoCategory seems to be the culprit here (too bad, I really liked it).

But the function _OnInventorySingleSlotUpdateInternal is called all the time, if I run the PABanking or if I add the item manually to the bank. You can see this on this screenshot from the debugging output. This long list of PAJ messages always starts after the AVA items.

This is not directly possible.
What you can do though is if you have FCO ItemSaver installed, you can mark all items "for deconstruction" that you would like to deconstruct (with FCOIS).
Then go to "PersonalAssistant Integration" and select in the settings that all Items marked for descontruction from FCOIS are deposited to the bank, except the locked ones.

Can you make this an optional step ?
This cannot be the case. The ESO Event for EVENT_INVENTORY_SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATE has already the filter REGISTER_FILTER_BAG_ID = BAG_BACKPACK registered, so it is only triggered when something happens in the backpack (and not e.g. the bank).
To be on the safe side, there actually even is an additional check added just before the function you mentioned is called:
Lua Code:
  1. if bagId == BAG_BACKPACK then
  2.     _OnInventorySingleSlotUpdateInternal(bagId, slotIndex, itemLink, isNewItem, stackCountChange)
  3. end
Can you please try the same again, but with all other addones (except PersonalAssistant and its dependencies) disabled? It can also be that this delay happens because of what another addon is doing at the same time.
InventoryGridView (last updated in 2018) is such a culprit for example; due to its own iplementation it ran extensive logic to update the grid view whenever an item was moved to the bank which made it very slow. But this is not something that I could change from PersonalAssistant side; it's just an inefficient implementation from IGV side.

Thus it would be important to know:
  1. Does the performance issue also happen when only PersonalAssistant is enabled?
  2. If not, which other addon is the one that starts causing these performance issues?

Yes, but my whole debugging code exists from before LibDebugLogger was created and so far it was not worth the effort (yet) to migrate everything over there - especially since I wanted something very visual and quick to see that is not "hidden" in the little window on the bottom-right. (Yes I know you can "open" that window, but that's an extra step and I also then first have to filter out all messages from other addons )

That didn't work. The debug window was always empty, not even the initial greeting was printed. When I started PABanking then, nothing happened, no items were move or anything. After 4 minutes I left the bank screen. No log was written to the lua files at any time.
